This refers to buying rims.
My choices were quite easy. If u have a budget, work within the budget. The higher the budget, the more choices u have. Similar to choosing either improving performance of the car against look, shopping for rims is similar. There are good looking rims, performance rims and good looking performance rims.
Then looking forward, are u changing the brake calipers? If that is in the pipeline, then u need to choose the offset carefully.
So like any project, need to plan carefully from day 1 when u ordered the car. If not going for performance, then go for looks and the choices is much easier for the pocket.

Good advice. May change the calipers later, so want a rim with a reasonable offset to accompany. Interesting research I've done over da net on offsets....rear wheel drives perform best with a minimum offset, closer to zero or even negative, while front drives should have a positive offset. Guess the 8 as a rear wheeler is designed differently given the stocks are +50 offset and have such great handling.

Went window shopping at Stamford Loyang this afternoon. Interesting aka reasonable price/cheap rims for the RX8 include SSR (downstairs extreme left) 18 x7.5 priced at $210 per rim!!
Upstairs in air con comfort, slightly old rims from 5 Zigen 2 piece (forged?) COPSE 18 x 7.5 offset +42 going for $330 per rims !!!!!
Then from Rays G Game 18 X 7.5 offset +42 at $460 per rims.
All good choice for budget minded esp the Zigen (really chio 2 piece with studs hehehe).
Otherwise ntg much . Maybe better choices at Jurong (Luk Yong drive). Heard most Volks are there

Great pix Neon, nice Volks. Thanks for posting bro. IMO, I like your Volks, but the SF Challenge rims in silver finish even better, but only bcause on the blue they would look better, maybe not with B. Black.

RIms = 3.2K+ Exhaust = 800+ (Tips changed to big ones..) Brakes = OEM Sprayed Red

Genesis, can easily find in carrefour or home-fix. But dunno where is the cheapest place. Wax itself is 30+. But i think to get the best effect, you need more than wax. Car wash, mist spray, clay bar, detail spray etc etc...will add up to around 100. Only worth it if you are really going to DIY frequently. If not it's gonna be 100 bucks worth of rubbish....

Manwe, I can't agree more. Personally, I don't like to spend more than an hour or two a week cleaning up the car. Anything more than that and I feel like I'm a slave to it. Besides, I think my time can be better spent elsewhere. That's why I wanna get a paint sealant treatment done. Considering either the PPS Teflon by 3mendouz or Glare. Anyone got comments/advice?

My only fear about all these sealants is that they do not clean up the car properly before sealing. There are a lot of contaminants stuck at the clear coat and some could be iron filings etc. If they ended up being sealed inside could spell bad news as they might rust in the sealant and you cannot do anything about it. But of cos if you are a splash and clean and occasionally person, having a sealant is way superior than not having anything.

I usually polish me 8 with Autoglym. I have a package with Glare too. The JDM's paint like not very good le...IMO. Dunno if its the same with MM's.

I think most cars nowadays, including Mazda, have that orange peel effect on the surface. Some more obvious than others but it's there. The only way to get rid of it is to respray.
