In the end, that's the reason I got the PS2 coz it's among the best tyres that are commercially available so manufacturing date is very recent.
yes it is important to make sure your tires are as fresh as they can be. should avoid tires that have been left on the shelf for too long. A general rule of thumb is not more than 5 years from date manufactured.

Seriously, 5 years is awefully generous. I assume you mean that you should not be driving on tyres that are >5 years old and not at the time or purchase.

When buying though, look for newly manufacturered ones. I insisted on <1 year tyres, and I got week 18 (May) 2006 manufactured PS2s.

S03 is heavy compared to S02 and s02A. And becos S02s are few (not becos they cant sell but becos production is few), they are always snapped up quickly when they arrived. No such thing as left on the shelf... u cant even find them hehehehe. My fnd has to book be4 it arrives.

I totally agree on getting a fresh set of tyres every 2 years or not more than 30k mileage. Tyres are most important to me. When ordering, make sure they have ur profile. They come in limited profiles so do check.

Cheap and good Toyo Proxy T1R oso can. Cheers

Does anyone have a tyre shop they can recommend who can source the s02s or s02a? what's the difference between the tyres. I saw a zhng'ed renault megane with s02a the other day, looks like he wanted to give me a run for my money!

SouthEast tyre has them but u need to indent (unless u heng got stock). S02A and S02 are diff tyres, diff thread pattern. S02 is older design but more aggressive thread.

Can look at the tyres when u are there. Only prob is whether they have the profile u want.

Cheers
