If u bot a resale flat/condo/apt/house be4 the Asian crisis, u would be happy to lose 30% of the price today. Average $800k private apt will fetch $550k or almost 2 RX8. Even HDB resale flat buyers also suffer albeit lesser amount (1 RX8 maybe for big unit).

Depend on your needs, that may not be true cos u can sell ur car anytime but not easy to sell ur apartment (take a look at the classified ad on Saturday for resale properties). Of course there are exceptions but the trend of 'appreciating' property may not always hold true anymore.

Mi, I stick to a great car first instead of worrying to find money to pay for a property currently at half my purchase value :D :D

 

true and not true... i'm not going to dispute about one's lifestyle. after all, i am one of those buying a rx8...

i'm only saying that... buy a house first... then a flashy car..

but of coz... rx8 is a great car to own....

i m going on 30, was on 50% NCB.

my gf drove, crashed and wrote off my celica. NCB down to 20%.

no one wanted to cover me for insurance except NTUC. was quote S$5600 with 20% NCB. gave up, registered car under bro's name. paying S$2500 as his 2nd car.

I was just past 25 and with 40% NCB.

Sis drove my ford, crashed and NCB down to 10% JUST a week before I bought my 8.

Same, only NTUC willing to cover me and quote 8k+. I was like &*%@# that and bought under me dad. 1k+ only. Phew....

But feel 'tu lan' all the same...oh well, **** happens...

 

no offence, I'm to too sure about the house part of your statement, but the car is definitely true though.
