Hey sgren,

I came to the defence the pearl white on that thread.

As for the triple exhaust I am surprised by the outpouring of scorn when it is just another mod amonsgt many on the market. Even though it's not functional I don't think it is that ugly. The guys on the Tiburon site may be jealous and wannabee but the RX8 forumers should have closed ranks with us instead of siding with them.

If i m not wrong, the featured ride belong to someone livin in Sengkang area, and it was last seen over a kerb @a junction near compasspoint, driver was seen out of the ride uninjured, thankfully.

It is really not a matter of good taste if it is on a BMW.... If u ask me, the bloody sharkfin looks damn ugly on the current BMWs too....

The sharkfin is not a cosmetic accessory... It came in some conti cars because that is an antenna for their market. Due to mass production, that antenna is till there although not used in the Singapore market.

Even if u request the distributor to remove it, they will not as it is too much work (ie. remove, patch holes, paint n polish again). That sharkfin is there becos the BMW *n other conti cars) owners had no choice....

Having the sharkfin on a RX-8 is really breaking it's form/shape... some consider this under "rice".... but well, to each their own.... if u r happy with it, so be it. Like I said... different taste....

I personally love the white, especially the snow flake pearl effect. If MM sells white, I would have gotten it. I guess my point is really to each their own. At the end of the day, we love our 8 and we should sing the same tune in our forum! Not cool to critise our cars in their forum, but then again.. they have their speaking rights.. Sharkfin or not, its your choice. U spend your own money which makes u happy, and end of the day, I still say.. excellent choice on the car!

juz yest, a 2.7l black TWO-KAR-NI chiet me....... i was in a hurry to attend a wedding dinner, so i start off the red line slightly at a higher rev.... then suddenly heard his "floor-the-pedal-sound" when his engine suddenly becomes very very loud... dats when i dropped back to second gear and whack......

can see he floored his auto damn hard as his engine sounds like it is breaking apart.... i rev until 3rd gear, when i have to turn left oredi.....

but it was a good challenge.... and he was slightly in front of me when i have to slow down and keep left...... i hope his engine dun go bust after that..... cos he whacked that engine real hard (i mean real hard!!!!!) while i easily rev to 9k rpm for every gear shift (consolation remark ).....

but then again, he was in front of me before i braked, so in child-like term - "he won the straight line sprint" (less than 150m)......

my car is quite stock in terms of performance mods so nvr belittle a 2.7l tuscani...... 2.7l niah hor.....

I had got use to it ..... once you drive faster .... easy to be engaged.

I was "chiat" by a light blue Alfa GTA (hatchback) on AYE earlier this month too on AYE with moderate traffic. Loss out in terms of pick up ...... (consolation : I'm on 19").... and that's a good car with a skillful & fierce driver behind the wheel (thumbs up)
