An offence? What kind of offence is it? I check up and down the points system from the traffic police and I cannot find the offence overtake from the left. Unless you overtake from the left when the person travelling at 80+ and you speed. Then they could book you for speeding. If not, if the person is travelling at 70-80, you change lane, then you drive at normal speed, it is not overtaking. You are driving normally but he is slow. Then no car ahead so you filter out again. You are not wrong to change lane either. Unless he is on the extreme left lane and you cut thru him on left then that is something reckless and inconsiderate. Or if you had used the shoulders...it is driving on shoulders.

the 8 wasnt speeding but when u do an over-taking naturally u will step on ur accelerator alittle bit no matter wat ...but the most +10to20. On 90km/h expressway we get +10 allowance so still within speed limit...furthermore overtaking and exceeding the speed limit i think it is 'legal' bcoz overtaking is only v.short distance, of coz we r not talking about over taking at 150km/h. thats y we always get the +10. 1st lane is call "over-taking lane".

the 8 got booked for "INCONSIDERATE DRIVING FOR OVERTAKING ON THE LEFT"
tp: license pls
.
..
.....
tp : i wanna book u for bleah bleah bleah....
8 : HUH???
tp : i saw u over taking from the left!!!!
8 :
.........
...
......
tp : u were driving very fast u know
8 : err i dont think so sir, i wasnt speeding at all *puzzled*
tp : who said not fast...u look at ur car..u see..u see lah ur car (force me to look at my car, i c my car day n nite how many water mark on my car i oso know)
8: *wondering wat is wrong with the car...all STOCK!!*

morale of the story to all my dear 8 members.... if u see tp dont overtake from the left bcoz 6 demerit points really not worth it lah. if 6 pts for speeding i take it gracefully....

Er... Emperor, if I'm not wrong, the extreme left lane in the states is the same as our extreme right lane- meant for over taking and travelling fast.....

i think u have been unfairly penalised gal.
i noe it's a hassle but u should write in your case based on all e facts u have told us.
it may be a long shot but a reckon a redress is warranted

Go to the traffic police website and check on what is the offence that they state. They will state full details of the offence plus the demerits given. Inconsiderate driving is 9 points and not 6.

Inconsiderate only if you do something that caused someone on the left to avoid/slow down for you cos you anyhow overtake, or because you dun like the fellow hogging you and you overtake but at snail's pace causing him to slow down etc etc that show poor consideration for others. If you have nothing of that sort, you should write in for a thorough investigation.

Sorry, i mean extreme right. I forgot that you guys drive on the wrong side of the road.

Come and drive over here and see for yourself how inconsiderate alot of drivers are here.

Just yesterday morning, a bloody cab blocked a whole line of cars on the right lane even in front of him is totally clear, and i really mean totally clear.

u said it urself...... cab. Cabbies are the most screwed up drivers on the road. Not all, but most. Those always on the roads one will tell u the same thing.

Either road hog, but "drift" between 2 lanes, or try to play games with you.

Ok...forgive those taxis....cos they teach us something new.... drift between 2 lanes and if the camera snap you, don't have to pay cos they cannot get full picture of the car in the lane... cannot be admitted as evidence

Haha...the police would position the camera in such a way that they can snap your pic when you speed and trigger the sensor. So...only one would be triggered and you have half a pic. But the stationery one wouldn't work....

Most of the local road annoyances I can deal with, even the right lane road hoggers, but when the friggin' Merc drivers in their big *** E or S-classes start throwing their weight around on the roads, I feel like employing a personal guided missile system to take their butts out!

We need a few people to drive a hummer on the road who own guns and have a raging temper.

I wonder whether its even possible to teach these idiots some road manners?

Same in Malaysia. Because they drive a big car, they dont have to queue. Of course, they are only ones in a hurry, unlike the rest of us....

Still not as bad as a friggin road hogger. I do not mind giving way to people in a rush but i hate when people block me when i am in a rush myself.

It will be cool if we can fix up an auto open-close car boot.

Next time we meet a road hogger on xtreme right lane, signal-overtake-wave-smile.....
Pop the hood with Big ******* Placard dat reads " You are a ******* Road Hogger, go Die somewhere! "
