RX8 Baby Friendly?

Dear All,

My wife is thinking of changing her saloon car to a RX8. I know it may sound silly to ask for a sports coupe, but can a baby chair fit at the rear seat? We have a 2nd car though I think she will be ferrying our children quite frequently. Secondly, also need to know if the RX8 boot can fit a baby pram.

Thanks in advance for the help! Kudos to an excellant site. Cheers

I am using the car to ferry my 6 month old daughter quite abit.

The baby seat fits very well and there is a anchor point at the rear to anchor seats that need to be anchored.

Its easier to "load" baby in because of the lack of the B-pillar. Just becareful of the low roof. And it gets slightly more difficult when you lower the car which i did.

Its quite comfortable for 2 adults and a baby/child. For now, no problem. Wife sits behind with kid and all the bags go to the front passenger seat. But may be tricky with 2 babies. Its dangerous to put a child seat in front, airbags are not very kind to babies or young children.

I have 2 prams. One huge "SUV" jogger and a small pram. Only the small pram will fit the boot. Your choice of prams will be somewhat limited but you will still find one that fits.

And finally, if you ferry people often, think twice. With a baby in the back, its difficult. Lucky for me, everyone i know drives and we have a previa at home.

And with the kids at the back seat, you don't have to worry about them playing with the doors while driving.

Ok for both child seat and (rearward facing) baby carrier. Boot can fit my pram with abt 6" diameter wheels, folded. Havent any major baby complaints (cry/throw-up) yet. Touch wood.
