The 8 and opposite sex...
Pre-holiday boredom question: Has the 8 ever helped you pick up any women (or boyz for that matter)? Such a looker of a car, there must be some stories around? When I was looking into buy the car, everyone says that it gets people's attention esp the opposite sex. Someone every went on to boast that the 8 is not a car but a lifestyle 
... how true is this? Surely there must be some action going on... peopel in Minis have stories, I am sure we have some?

Get alot of people taking photos though. Pass by people take, stop at traffic light also people behind take.
Funniest was when a girl behind me at a traffic light slowly take out her camera and took a few shots trying to be discreet. But hey, i have a good eyesight and good rearview mirror.
On the opposite sex; cannot really tell as being married, i did not go "pulling" chicks or anything but it did have a impact on other car owning guys. Especially sour grapes.

"SG so small, got space to run?"
"Buying cars is stupid in SG, especially more expensive ones"

my previous ride already had gals offering themselves to me, & rx8 attract more!
i save more money driving an 8, becos gals treat me, buy me stuffs, i seldom spend $ on dates..even movies & dinner provided..its only petrol that i haf to spend after keeping my engine idling with aircon blasting inside to keep me & my date cool..
i spend some nites in my 8 for hours! we had it twice or thrice a session!
fuel-C very high! haha

imo its the passion of buying this car that counts
initially i wanted to buy a Honda accord or the new civic but when i laid my eyes on the 8, it confirmed i had to get it...although its much more exp than the other 2 cars....

I personally think that the attractiveness of your car is juat an added value, and not something that will hypnotise a gal to walk right up to you and throw herself at u. So... even with an attractive car, you still must learn to approach a gal, and not expect a gal to approach you unless u are a pretty boy.

I would like to point that given any ride, 'gals' from changi v will offer themselves to u. Another place would be geylang...
sure got gals offer themselves.Your second paragraph is even better....it makes u sound like a gigolo.

In response to lowrider's post, the short answer is yes.
It IS a good looking car that catches many a girl's eye, BUT it is a tool (albeit a very powerful one) and only as effective as the owner who is using it. But I personally feel that it's a super deal maker and bed breaker especially when you take a normal average joe driving an 8 VS a better looking average joe driving a van/vios/picanto/jazz/colt/206/tuscani (aka moving crap). I have tested this scenario on several girls before as part of my ongoing sociological studies of the female kind. When I drive the van, I get the damn dao look from girls sitting in their bf's 10 yr old nissan sunny. In the 8, macham like tokyo drift style flirting. I think I get a sick thrill from making eyes at ah lians sitting next to their bfs in WRXs. One of these days I'm going to get beaten up by the WRX club.

honestly, the rx8 does attract looks from girl or even guy but i dont think they will go to the extend of throwing themselve at the driver ( at least i have not came across any yet ... ). I strongly believe that majority , in not all of the 8 owners here bought this car for all sort of reasons ( power, look, reliability, rotary ...blah blah ) but not for "free" chick, right ??? 
btw, i'm one of those guy that will stare at nice car (used to be staring at any 8 that drove pass me ) ......but not the driver regardless of whether male or female....heeheehee...

My only experience with the opposite sex and cars has not been good.
I was stuck in up-hill traffic jam on campus. Both my flat-mate and myself were staring at the hotties walking-by on the side-walk ... bored stiff (no punn intended!!) when my leg "lost" control and twitched too hard causing surged the car forward.
Banged into the car in front at about 5mph ...remember, was in up-hill traffic jam.... I didn't see any damage. The girl driver freaked cause it was her dad's car. I must have still look a bit weird after staring at the hotties for so long... drull, saliva stains on the side of my shirt? Anyway, she was scared enough to call the police.
Police came; didn't see the damage except the popped-up rubber strip on the bumper, which i didn't spot initially. Anyway, the police suggested that we just push the rubber stip back and call it a day. She kept on saying that her dad will be pissed off at her. The police wrote up the report and filed claim... I think it was less than 50bucks. My insurance agent brushed it off.
All for the small price of boredom on hot summer days and hotties in very short shorts, bouncing up and down. Didn't have the 8 then; was in a black Mustang turbo. Lesson here: Cars, hotties and me are accidents waiting to happen! btw I have had three accidents while smsing/texting whilse driving with the phone!! (My latest lesson in driving -- try not to text whilst driving.)
On another note, I find that the 8's beauty really over-powers our physical attributes.
YOu could be good looking and have the aunty-killer looks...and yet people will look at the 8 and not the driver... I keep using this as my excuse.
Its like walking down the street with Brad Pitt next to you, who would people stare at and chat up first? Damn the car for being just so good looking!! And I was hoping for the 8 to change my luck... 
Finally, why is watching the Fast & Furious was like porno for cars... have ricey cars and have the hotties... maybe we are in the wrong country. But having said that, Malaysia has some sort of F&F going on... winner of their races get free meat thrown in .... alas, I am still waiting for my F&F experience. Or maybe I should sell the 8 and invest the money on refreshing myself and a bit of nip/tuck?

Hahaha...I agree wif u on the point abt the van...when I drive my van, gals
usually juz regard me as another delivery guy or uncle...thus they dun really give
a 2nd look? But of coz I'm not saying gals in spore are materialistic...but in a
sense, I'm saying they wld naturally go for guys who drive better car (financial
stability) n better looks (hey, like i said i'm fat n ugly)...but i guess its only fair
coz how many guys on this earth can truly say that looks doesn't matter to
them at all? How many of us actually pick up a gal n not say this gal chio thats

.....coupe07 and a few others quite yandao leh. In the process, you can view the 8s and see how to make it even more attractive than it already is. But you will have to challenge dollygrrl
her car is rather chio. Hmm come to think of it, her car is white as well..... 
. Oh and the fact that she has nice rims that look mysteriously like mine doesnt affect my impartial judgment in any way.
