RXbabe: In general sense, any thing that does not extend more than 28mm outward (calculate from stock) is ok.
now stock is 18 x 8 + 50 offset.
now each number of offset, it extends outward by 1mm.
My Enkei is 18 x 8 +40 - it extends 10mm outwards.
Now if you want a Volks CE28N in 18 x 8.5 + 38.
It extends 12mm, but in addition, the extra 0.5" goes both size. So there is another 0.25" (or 6mm) extension. So together it is 18mm extension from stock.
To be on the safe size front should be less than 22mm. Rear can go 28 I think.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU FIT A WHEEL EXTENDS 30mm OUTWARDS?
It hits the fender guard each time you hit a kerb, pot hole and even turning slowly

What about 19" rims?
f: 19x8.0 +40 = 10mm
r: 19x9.0 +40 = 22mm
or

Should be ok rite?
