PI and have steering rack problems?

boonster, i believe that coupe07 mentioned that he has done everything you mentioned and the only way is to change the rack.

Coupe07,i wonder if it is possible to get the replacement sensor and change it , instead of junking the whole rack which is quite wasteful

no... the sensor comes with the rack... theres no separate part number for sensor only...

hi all again,
my steering didn't last long after soldering those little wires. i've taken mine in for peace of mind. only i told them not to replace the rack and find the f&$#ng problem. it's been there 3 weeks now. they've agreed the rack is fine. they have said my fault is down to software issue on the ABS module. So they are re programming all software for the electrical parts/modules. they say that a new module was put in and problem was fixed, but testing the module signals or currents (on my old one) said that it too was fine. hence the re programming of it.. should know soon like 3 days or so. will post the results.

i have had power steering failure twice had the rack replaced and it is about to fail again in less than a year and a half IMO RX8s suck horribly built POS and cant wait to get rid of it
