New 2000 323Ci (2.5L) in USA was $30,000 = RM120,000
New one in Malaysia was RM360,000 which last time was +100% import tax and +100% excise tax.

After 5 years, at 10% annual depreciation you lose 50% value of the car, so my car was valued at $15,000 or RM60,000

so when you import the car you are supposed to be taxed the 100% import tax, but now, the import tax is about 50% (and excise tax is up to about 150%).

I ended up getting taxed about 80% or RM50,000 or $12,500.
So basically RM170,000 total instead of RM360,000 but this is assuming you are bringing in a used car and also assuming that you even manage to obtain an AP.

Here's the photos of today's HPC Event held on 22APR07. Great showing by the RE Club cars, with 2 FC3S, 7 FD3S, and 4 SE3P's.

Great shots Hans........ U took WAAAAAYYYYYY more pics than i did LOLZ......... Aiya, u didn't take pics of those 2 white Subarus arrr?

Found out that my rear exhaust guard (left passenger side) had "MELTED" quite considerably........... Will post pics on that later today......... Other that that, car was perfect all throughout yesterday. Tempreature gauge stayed Normal even though i was pulling 9,200rpms........ The only annoying thing that was happening yesterday was that......i was hitting the speedcut on the straights ALL THE TIME....... Damn, gotta get that removed !!!! 187km/h cut out isn't funny when u hit it every lap...... Its like having ur wife next to you saying "Slow Down!!!"....... Arghhhh...............

Nice! Representing Muar. My dad's family is from Muar as well (Jalan Khalidi). Or rather, "Muor".

Goober, nice shots. You can actually access the media lane around the track to grab some pictures from different turns. Obviously, you'll be driving and won't find the time to do this. I'll post some pics from the first HPC outing later. If I can get photobucket to work.

A better panned shot, though the cone is distracting:

Effie, the area that melted is really strange, might need check if there is a little leak of the exhaust near the area...

I think it has to do with the Exhaust Tail Pipe design...... It gets EXTREMELY hot...... Look at the pics closely..... Its single layer metal and NOT insulated like HKS and AUTOEXE......

BUT, because of its design....It gives out a very nice exhaust note and is very light......

Regarding RE Amemiya ECU Remapping session.

This is a good news for those coming for the Remap.
We managed to negotiate a deal so those coming for the Remap with their cars will get 1 free Dyno-run to test your horsepower.

Note that the remap is not about gaining horsepower so please do not expect to see magic graph.

The dyno-run is just for the fun of it.

very curious how it sounds like.. can u some how spell out the sound ar?

i think ur bumper starts to melt when u park ur car.. becos at stationary, the heat waves will move strait up.

so when u stop to park, u can spray some water on it or cover the tips with wet towel

Anything that has a dual layered construction.....Like HKS and Autoexe..... Prolly the most common exhaust ive seen on our local Rx8's is the Autoexe version......

Can but you have to pay for 1 of the run. But don't worry, it's at a very cheap price.

So are you changing your mind about coming for the remap?
