So, I wanted to post in thread and say Hi. I was born in Malaysia and lived there for 16 years. Live in the States now and probably will be visiting home next year. Just wanted to stop by.

Great! so how do both cars compare?
power/acceleration wise.

dont say hadling is good etc whatever...thats boring. At the sports car level, they are all the same.

Are you kidding? The handling of all sports cars are the same? Both cars are entirely different. I am not really going to go into too much detail but my RX8 has nothing on the acceleration of my 350Z during the lower bands, but once you hit those high RPM's the RX8 just sings. I never really enjoyed the ride of my 350Z, it's just too stiff as a daily driver. I took home a 2006 WRX STi last week for a week (borrowed a friends) and I found that to be stiff for my liking but boy does it handle and response well. The short shifter on the STi makes the RX8 ones seem long but I'm not to big on such a short shift.

It was the little things on the 350Z that pissed me off like having to move my passenger seat forward to get to my glove box....great design there guys...

Well in conclusion, I prefer my RX8. It's the reason I traded my 350Z in for it. The handling of the RX8 just runs circles around my 350Z. I knew it was the car for me when I was exiting a highway ramp and drifted along the cloverleaf perfectly without ever once having the back end swing out too much.....I am considering a 06 Infiniti G35 Coupe right now. I like it because it's fixed all the little things I hated about the 350Z......I'll let you know what I think...I have an appointment to test one out next week. I have no plans to acquire the G37. I do not like the new style at all.

haha... if u have driven the 350z... u would know.....

i driven a supra but i still think rx-8 is a much better handler in fact one of my friends that drives an rx-7 thinks rx-8 is still a better handler... might be the chasis i guess

Boony, ive tested 350 auto before, feels like its got turbo! but didn try corner.

Boy, that car flew over the curb over the drain and broke the wall? How did that happen? but the damage dosnt look very severe.. and what kind of GT wing is that? looks nice.

Anyway ur right, I shouldnt take the 8's handling for granted. Its good. maybe becos I used to drive a smaller car so I dont realize it. If I came from the 350 or supra, I might have noticed the 8's handling more.

In all seriousness, it's good to know he's doing alright. It could have been much worse.

So, I have a question to all you guys out there. Like I said in my earlier post, it's been a while since I've been back to Malaysia. I've been hearing news as of late that the high taxes on cars were going to be removed this year and Proton/Perodua's price advantage would have been cut dramatically. So has any of this happen? What is the current tax on CKD and CBU? Will it be changing anytime soon?
