Newbie!

Hi guys,

I am new to this forum, from SG, and would potentially be getting a RX8 soon. I do have some doubts at the moment though.

I was reading that MM might be bringing in the 6 speed auto in June. Dealer just rang me and said he has a secondhand PI V.Red 05 RX8 4spd AT with Red/Black interior. I was just wondering if I should buy this or kill myself over the wait for the 6 speed.

Also as the car no plate is SFR 994 K. Does anyone know about the history of this car?

Gonna take it out for a test drive tomorrow

loonsy, my advice is to check with MM directly if they are indeed bringing the 6-sp auto instead of listening or believing all the rumours floating around. It's a lot of money to be spending on a car if you're gonna regret it later.

As for the 2nd hand PI V.Red '05 Auto 8, I do not have it in my database of 8s. Also the license plate does not seem right. SFR994 should end with "R" instead of "K". If the dealer is really trying to sell you SFR994K, then make sure you check all the documents with LTA.

monthly varies from person to person. How to tell u each n every one pays how much, bro??? If u put a high downpayment, then every month u can relax. But if low downpayment, of cos, every month, pple like me will panic...

Yeah and don't forget the loan interest for a 2nd hand car is higher than for a brand new car. It doesn't matter how "young" the car is or how low the mileage or now good the condition is. As long as 2nd hand, the loan interest may tip the scales and make it more worthwhile to get brand new.

Decision made

Ok, convinced gf to drive 6MT. Gonna get a pearl white shinka from World of Wheels, be signing the papers in thenext couple of days, so should get my car in 2-3 months time.

Also Spyder, I have driven the 944R from cartimes. In my opinion after checking with several PI's the interior is the only difference. $89,800 for a second hand V. Red with red/black interior and 6 disc changer not really worth it. You can buy a brand new AT for 93,000 add $500 for 6 disc changer.

Also, when is the next meet? Benice to be able to meet more RX-8 owners All my firends keep asking me to buy EVO IX or WRX STI. Sigh...what's so bad about the 8???

Mazda no longer manufactures the original Shinka that came in the Black Cherry Colour.

The new Shinka's dubbed Sports Limited Prestige II, now comes in 4 colours.

Snowflake White Pearl Mica, Copper Red Pearl Mica, Brilliant Black or Titanium Grey.

Yep, at least that's how I feel. The red/black interior is a love/hate thing. Some like it some don't. Personally, I think the cloth seats are more comfortable. Booked for my Shinka II, now for the wait for it to arrive.

Looking forward to meetups soon. Cheers!

Hi simply8, welcome welcome... Don't worry, don't have to own one to join the club. In fact, a number of the members joined to learn more about the 8 before they bought the car so you've come to the right place. Feel free to browse and search and ask any questions you may have that you can't find on the forum. If you're free, can join us at our meet-ups too. We're a bunch of friendly folks, so just approach us coz we won't be able to recognise you if you just keep to yourself. Hope you fulfill your dream soon!
