1st stop, tyre shop for 18" hyper black rims, 2nd stop,
fender strakes and rear crest.

I am contented........for this week!

Hi my name is Alvin and my email is ng_choon_yong@yahoo.com.sg... just got a my auto rx-8 red colour for about 2 weeks ago from the PI. so far it has been great and never have I once regret getting this. however sadly I have been having some small problem which I really need help with... my dash board lights when I first got it can be changed from a black background to a white background after I turned the illuminator switch to the maximum, which is damn cool. but after 2 weeks of use, it has broken down and my background remains black after I switch the illumination switch to the max. I have reported to my PI, but they seem to think that it may be just a figment of my imagination and they say they will check it out with the japan side as they do not know of this function. I am worried that they may return and tell me that nothing is wrong.... so I need help... for those with the 05 model, does you dashboard console lights been able to swtich from a black background with white numbers to a white background with black numbers?? please please help, I am desperate.

for an upgrade to 18' hyper black rims.

check out the tyre shop, leong seng at paya ubi ind. complex.

well known, fantastic choice, great price and damn good service.
one of the best tyre shops around. must check out the super lightweight
forged "prodrive" rims. drool man....

 

bro,

if your headlights are not on, you can adjust the intensity of the tachometer lighting on the numbers(White lighted fonts on black background).

if your headlights are on, the intensity adjustment is on red fonts on blue/black background. after you adjust to the maximum, if you push upwards somemore,
it clicks to a white font on black backgound.

hope this helps, i think your dash board lights went bonkers oredi.
u mean u can only see the needles and nothin else???

Hi Bro...my dashboard lights indeed went bonkers after only 2 weeks!!! however my spoilt dashboard lights currently response just like you car does as the way you describe it exactly. however what I am saying is that with this current model( not too sure how the previous models react)when the headlights are off and when you push the switch to the max, the background changes to white instead of the black. and when the headlights are on, the background also will change to white too.... anyway I got some response from other RX-8 owners on my other thread in regards to this and you can check it out too... they say that theirs can change from a black background to white background when the lights are off anf they can also change from a blue background to a white background when the ligths are on.

anyway thanks for your input... so what are the others owners experience with this dashboard thing??
