photozone.....the question too vague already. like asking nikon and canon...which one better.

your question really has been asked too many times already. read the past threads and you will find the information you want.

Photozone, you might want to think about why you're getting the 8 in the first place. In terms of raw power, there are several other performance car makes out there that beat the 8 in a straight line. But its handling is far superior and is darn nifty in traffic. Take some time to research more about the 8, its specs, read some road test reviews in magazines/online. Overall, it has plenty to offer as a whole. Depends what you're looking for yeah?

Thanks wildchilde, actually I don't really care about the performance, if I want the performance car, better for me to go for fairlady or evo or others which can give high HP.

To me, why I go for the 8 because of it's look, more practical sports car which can accommodate 4 adults, and also from magazine/online review which gives good remarks.

why I asked about AT or MT, is just to get some feedback, perhaps the pro and cons between AT and MT, etc.. etc..

You should get the AT because all real racers know that it's faster. Also, a real racer knows that more concentration can be put on driving than shifting. A real racer drives an AT because it can handle up to 500whp. So, in conclusion, if you wan to be a real racer like Vin Diesel then get an AT!

I'll put you out of your misery

The MT owns the AT bigtime acceleration wise . If you want performance the MT is the only choice . If you just want to cruise then the AT is ok for that .

Hey...no problems mate. Don't think I need to tell you the pros and cons of stick driving vs automatic driving in terms of driver comfort/convenience based on your requirements. It also depends what specs the dealer you're getting your car from can offer. ATs come with smaller 16" rims and non-performance tuned suspension if you're getting the base model. Sports Type Es have upsized rims (18") and sports suspension. The 6MT Type S comes with 18" rims and sports suspension in its stock form. The AT also has paddle shifters which can be fun. And if you like to "zhng" your ride, go for the MT...there are more upgrade options/more tangible performance gains. You also won't have to worry about ATF issues with an MT.

Cheers

bro RX8 also can give high HP, but you just need the correct mods to do that, anyway all cars also have to do mods in the end.

AT has its benefits and MT has theirs, if you really want; i suggest you go test drive both transmission and at the end you'll have your ans on which 1 is more suitable for you. for me i choose AT coz my wife also drives, if not i would have taken MT, but at the end of the day i found out that AT also has its benefits, wat kind of benefits you have to test drive and find out lah. cheers

We have the shifters and the MT doesn't...

I must admit though it feels more like a race car in manual. I love driving in manual mode...

MT no contest, only go with AT if you just want to cruise around and don't have any desire for speed.

RX8 is a good car, as I got 1. But cannot refuse that the cost of fixing the problem below will make one's wallet bleeds (mine bled until dry) . Please search for 2nd engine club or 3rd engine club in this forum. Probably you are rich enough to spare some engines at your house's back yard. But to let you know this, just in case you like to red line the engine all the time, just like me :D
