so i have no real hurry to get the addons before collection?

for example, if i ask for upgrade to 18" wheels, that means the dealer will bring in the car with 16" and also extra set of 18" to swap locally? That means i get to keep the 16"???
Some how i dun think that is feasible for them leh... like leather seats etc..... so you think the car is shipped with certain options installed from factory?

To Cuscorex n Vagus. My rims was swapped at the factory during production and this is a package that comes with sports suspension. If u bring in the standard Type E, it will come in with 16" rims and tyres and u will have to hunt for the 18" rims ln tyres locally fr either Type S owners or after-market rims. N the worst scenario wil be u left holding on the the 16" original rims and tyres which I am sure will not be easy to dispose of.

Yeah, imho all the bright colours looks great on the 8. Juzz that my wife disapprove of red and I had a real hard time deciding between blue and yellow. Since I am not getting any younger, take this oppurtunity to "hiao" for the last time:D

To Cuscorex n Vagus.
I not so sure about rims, you might wanna check with your dealer, if you've to top up the different for the rims, I think that's fine. But if you've to pay full price for the factory 18' rims, then you might as well get something aftermarket here. You'll have more choice and can get something you like.
As for other option like leather seats, sun roof and air-bags of course these will come factory fitted. Only those small items then, that will be fitted by local dealers.

Front Fog Lamps (S$473), 6. Interior Foot Lamp, (S$180) and lastly Factory Alarm (S$195). The dealer threw in the front and rear rotary crests, side strakes and aluminium pedals FOC.
From what i gather, the price of S$1200 for changing to 18" and sports suspension is an upgrade price rather than the price for the unit. Cos to get 18"rim and tires easily cost >S$1800 for after market rims/tires. What's more, the suspension was also changed....
IMHO, i think the 18" upgrade price is a good deal!

Is the suspension changed to the Type S suspension? or different kind? Is it lower than original Type E's suspension?

If i intend to lower my car, and if type S suspension is same height, then no point in changing right?

can get 18"upgrade without sspension upgrade?

does the sunroof affect the torsional rigidity of the car? Automatic sliding function?

Pardon my incessant questions but i need to learn as much as possible coz this time round dealing with PI......

The price i posted is an upgrade price. It is an option that is available if u buy the Type E. It comes as a package, 18" rims and tyres with sports suspension. As i mentioned earlier, i know next-to-nothing about cars, i really cant tell what the height of my suspension is except that i think the suspension is similar to Type S, pretty hard but i like it as u can corner with confidence. I have always been a careful driver who never drive hard but with this car, things r starting to change as i realised that this car can really do things i never thought was possible b4, safely! As for the sunroof, i was quite apprehensive at first due to past experiences with my 3 other cars with sunroof esp my Mitusubishi Lancer Mivec which flexes at the slightest road imperfection. (Fab8 should be able to attest to this right?) The roof on this car is i would say well built, with no flexing detectable. It has one-touch opening but u have to hold on to the switch to close it completely. U can also choose to tilt the roof if u like. Ok, better stop here, its getting too long. Cheers!

I heard from MM that they are bringing in 2 cars in each color for the first batch... and they are all sold! With 6 colors available, that makes it at least 12 new RX8 owners in June!

hoks & cuscorex,

Not sure if you have the same experience as me. Do you know if MM is bringing in any accessories/options? They are telling me that we have no options whatsoever...

U r right man...dis is my first time dealing with them but my impression is they are one conservative company...I hv sent my SE an email with some options I found from Mazda Jap website but they have yet to get back to me...these are all cosmetic changes only.

Cuscorex, u spoke with Philip? Tough guy eh....

Are they even going to provide a test drive car? Cause the car will sell quite quickly anyways.

To those proud owners of the RX8 6MT ... ... does the car comes with sat navigation as well when you all buy it from PI? Or does the centre pop-up monitor works? From the link below you might have a clearer picture what I am referring to..... thanks in advance for the info

From what I heard, the showroom car will arrive in late May/early June. We can then go down and have a look at it (and maybe bring it for a little spin) & drool about it till our car arrives in End June/early July.

Neon, you won't want to do that... you will lose some horses, as the MM model is 228bhp (231 ps).
