Need your advice here again. I have test drove a MT6 today and after I off the ignition, the cooling fan is still running for about 10 mins. I asked the sales guy and he says it's normal. After I came home and I thought that this couldn't be right and I want to check with you all of you here for advice. The idling of the car is good and stable but it's a bit jerky in 1st gear. Should there be something I should look out for?

I suppose to get my MT6 late last month something happen and I lost my booking to another guy. crap!

That's pretty normal...... But just to be save (in case the fan suck too much power), you could install a timer connecting to the fan...... But nobody don't yet....
I'm not talking about turbo timer here.....

 

I'm gonna add water injection first, this is a quite risky stuff to me.... Maybe later..... Where's the post regarding that??

I thought that the car has overheated, that's why the cooling was on for 10 mins automatically. I guess this is a normal thing for rx8?..:-)


If I want to send it for my first service, which workshop should I send it too?
Please recommend.

service rx8 is really easy

check battrey
check water
check air filter
change oil, (suck out, no need to even jack the car)
change oil filter

so any mechanic who can do this can service your car.

the problem is; which engine oil to use? bla bla blee blee bla bla...etc etc
some ppl will tell u to use the most expensive oil on the rack,
my advice is;
-10/40 is fine, the less viscous, the better
-use your common sense, more expensive, does not translate to more better

Thanks. I was over worried earlier on the cooling fan been on, when I off the engine. I guess Lennon has confirmed that it's normal. I would have thought the engine would have over heated or something...:-).

mine cooling fan only like few second after off the engine. maybe my cooling fan got problem? hm...

 

265 rear wheels cant pick up la. lol. AT somemore. but maybe to go there for take photo also not a bad idea.

sebmoy: the fan is normal. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's normal.

I myself might try to make it tonight, if my other appointment doesn't happen.

 

It only jerky during 1st gear, probably it's the clutch. Once it's above 1500 rpm, it's ok.

The cooling fan is works as per normal, no jerky/vebrating.

Hope everything is well before I confirm the car..:-)

Sometimes my fan goes on for a good 5 min after I shut the engine.
This normally happens on a very hot day or after I've driven the car hard...most of the time it's after the latter.

I do believe there is a thread in this forum that addresses this. I was initially taken aback but after reading the thread, i realised it's normal!!

haha .. once and for all get it done la. anyway i seldom drive the 8. now with bodykit i think the car cannot go home already, got to park office .... :P
