Guys,

Anyone using a premix in their fuel? I came across the Idemitsu Rotary Premix and am wondering if its any good. Premix's are said to help combustion (less carbon deposits) and lubricate the Apex Seals.

Motul also carries 3 versions of the Semi-Syn (Ester) based engine oil. Heard that Ester helps to lubricate the seals. I'm using 20W50 Mineral Motul now on the 8.

Any comments?

bro i do not think mineral base oil can go up to 20W50 grade la. it must be semi synthetic or synthetic. please double check.

10W30 la bro. darul is there a 20W50 mineral shell ? macam ada kan!? but i once hear a pro who sell engine oil told me. as long mineral go up more than W30 it will be API fail, cause hard to get through oil filter. guys better check the labels.

p/s: i tarik balik my words about mineral 20W50 i just check the web and they are really selling 20W50 mineral! faint!

 

..hehe...i wuz just abt to say.....mine is 20w50 shell super.......suppose there's only 2 shell mineral oil......the other one is for perodua's etc.........its doesnt matter abt 20w..(msia mah....)....but the 50 is more important.

Darul, some of the machanic here says that the 20W infront means when the engine oil start working. therefore according to them, it is bad to have too high infront, means when u start your engine, its not protected as much. have to get pro to clearify. i am not sure bout it. but after changing to 10W30 i feel that when u start your car, it go very high RPM more than when i use 5W30, 2.2K RPM

 

...well...ur car technically shud start at a higher rpm considering previously u use 5W....instead of 10W........

....msia got no Winter ...so...supposedly we arent suppose to choose that low (e.g 5W)..........
however..in Msia...the climate is fairly hot and our engine also very hot....if u use viscosity of 30, then the oil will be too thin for the engine to pickup. So...its advisable to get a thicker or "heavier" oil....

well...thats my 88 cents la........

how is the respond? should be louder but good respond. rite?

 

FYI, we sell Motul oil also. If you want we can get them but I still recommend Rotary oil.
