I think there are a number of people here who received their RX-8s from their parents. Some people may feel that it is wrong and makes the children soft or have a poor sense of the value of money and hard work, but personally I don't see anything wrong with receiving gifts from parents with the right attitude/values. If anyone has a problem receiving an Enzo from their parents, they can give it to me.

My own stand is like that. Guys should work hard, after all they will have a family to feed. Gals can be pampered though i think there still a limit. As long as its not too overboard i think its quite alright. But when a guy lives off his parent i feel its too much.
My dad too offered to pay for alot of my stuff but to me i felt as long as i can make my own money why should i take his. After all he work for his own money so he should spend it himself. In addition i give him a fixed allowance and part of my income; sort of showing fillial piety.
Oops. I shouldn't be posting any more in case i offend more people. To each his own.

Whats so wrong with a corolla? Offensive to you? A person who used to drive a corolla pays $70k in taxes every year.

Therefore, with regards to ur earlier statement below, if people choose to splurge on their wedding and it is their hard earned money, it should be ok, rite?
"This girl booked a grand dinner and bought 20k worth of tiffany stuff. End of the day who remembers this wedding; the bill payer? Who is paying for the bill for what others ate 2 years ago?"
Honestly, people want to use money to wipe table and it is their hard earned money, it should be ok. Lets not be too carried away. People want to use money to chop seat, let them be. But, we should also refrain from judging on how people spend. De rao ren chu qie rao ren.
I overtake the stewpig cab today. He buay song come and cut into my lane. Cheong to overtake him also no point, .... cos red light ahead.

Everyone grows up differently, thus different values and perspective. Emperor has he's own thinking, so do I. Id take his views as a learning point and reference anytime.. Cheers..
