I wonder if its possible to get a lexan windscreen. Save alot alot of weight and shatterproof somemore.

 

A friend of mine did that for his window. Yes, significant weight savings, but not good to look through it. I think lexan will scratch and haze easier than glass. Besides, if you wanna custom mold a lexan to fit your windscreen size and curvature, it won't come cheap. Possible but got price to pay.

I would agree it may not be good for everyday use. If its cheap, it would be quite a worthwhile mod though. I think its easier and cheaper to get lexan side windows.

 

My friend did that for his car in Australia. Yep, definitely possible and cheaper for side windows, but not for windscreen.
