Horrigible Experience at Glare Ubi!

Sent in my car today after a weekend of zoom-zoom - wanted to get rid of mud splatter that stayed stubborn even after washing.

Since my car was orginally Glare-d, went back to them for my 6 month car spa + top up to get my newly resprayed bonnet and bumper sealed.

Picked up my car, and lo and behold - small scratches all the way to the paint, and they were definitely NOT there before as i checked before sending it in.

Apparently, they did not properly wash the car free of the mud spots before polishing - initially they only used sponge, not even clay bar.

Glare insisted that it was already there, and it wasn't their fault......sigh....akan datang.

What's worse, found that they scratched the windscreen! Deep one somemore. How the *** they manage to scratch tempered glass is beyond me. Win already, I'll definitely take them to task!

Any advise from bros if windscreen scratches can be fixed? Or do I hv to replace the whole thing?

gfoo.. can i understand whats their stand on this horrific episode? Playing ignorant or compensating?

I hope they will rectify to their best though the damage is already done, merely employing cosmetic coverups... Id kill them if i were you.. haha...

Anyways.. not that im encouraging you to do so.. if any case that the issue hovers over denial and youre darn sure its their Fxxking fault/doing... the following url will be your next option. Last resort.

sorry to hear about your 8's pain there.... but you did kinda have to understand when you turn your car over to someone else to be washed, you never know how it will come out. To other's doing the work only getting pair $5.15 an hour its just a car and more work, to you it's your baby.

That's why I will NEVER let ANYONE else wash my car but me, no automatic washers, or any of that business either. There is something just plain wrong about *paying* someone else to *** up my most prized possession.

That's a standard price for the 8, not special rate. I get 50% loyalty discount. I've done my Glare treatment at Ubi twice, no dramas but then again, I stay there throughout and watch them working on my car. I guess if your car is very dirty/muddy, you gotta tell whoever that's washing your car to be more careful and thorough when washing.

Normally the package includes 1 Glare treatment and a check-up treatment every 6 months for the next 18 months (total 1 + 3 sessions). At the end of 18 months, you can renew with another treatment (1+3 sessions) with 50% loyalty discount.

Yeah I paid $488 too... this session was the 1st 6 month checkup + add-on sealant for my new bodykit.

INXS: There were two instances of scratches. First, they scratched the paintwork on one of the wing mirrors. I was standing there while they did it, and when i found a scratch, i highlighted it to the manager. They refuted it, saying that it was my fault WTF, and refused to take responsibility for it - NO INTEGRITY! Bo pian, as had urgent concalls in the afternoon, had to scoot off to go to work. Luckily, i didn't sign the acceptance form they typically give you after a session.

Then on my way home last nite, noticed the scratch on my windscreen. It was deep, and bloody obvious.

Let's see how they compensate me lah ... not only CASE, there are a lot of legal and malpractice routes to take (esp when legal representation is foc for me). worse come to worst, every month send down mata to check work permits of their workers and get IRAS to audit them.

Gfoo, only if necessary... else ull be branded as a white collar bully.. which sometimes, i do feel sorry for those 'singlet' or 'no collar' employees. Heard one too many sob stories when im down at the weekly Meet-The-People sessions..

Nevertheless, justice needs to be done.. appropriately. Cheers@@

I'll be saner when i cool down lah, no worries. but really lor, you pay $500 to get your car done up swee swee, and they scratch it. Paintwork nevermind, can respray, $$$ only. Windscreen chialat - if have to change, then concerns on watertightness and fitting comes into play. The car will never be the same again.

REplacing the windscreen isn't so bad lah.... watertightness issues if you get a good shop to do it.
YOu think you have problems; I have had my back windscreen vandalised (ie smashed with a crowbar) last month; I reversed into a taxi who had stopped 6 inches from me yesterday... I barely got out of my parking lot before I dinked him. Found a few more scratches (looks like finger nail or something similar) along my wheel welds.... this is on top of the scratches I made myself to the car with my own golf clubs...

Annus horribilis so far for my baby!

But still, its not the end of the world.... all cars can be expected to be dinked, scratched or damaged if you drive it or exposure it enuf to the public. Think of it as a bad hair day for the car.

Status: Well, they have offered to restitute the $100 windscreen replacement excess fee, and the balance fees of the $488 minus unused warranty months. However, they're stalling for time for settlement.

The process of dealing with them has really pissed me off, initially shrugging it off, and now it seems as if they are taking my kindness for weakness. Now it's not about the $$$ ($100 for windscreen replacement is cheap anyways). Akan datang....I'll be taking them to task all the way. Negligence and malpractice should never be condoned.

I went with a friend there once. And i noticed there were fine lines on his car.

Other than throwing the sponge around, they use the same sponge for many many months. I change my own sponge ever few washes. But there was once my PI workshop washed my car and there were some swirls, never let anyone else touch my car since and its the only swirls i got.
