Heat Insulation

Just to check with you guys if its true that MM actually did a recall to do some insulation work inside RX8 cabin? Around the cup holder area?

I just got a secondhand RX8.....need to check.

Hi, the heat is normal. Just have to get used to it.

i think you were referring to the recall regarding insulation near the fuel tank. you can get most info from this website regarding mazda recall:

Certainly can't keep a camera in the cup holder. Just got an 06AT and my camera in the cup holder is almost too hot to touch. So, this is normal?

DON'T ever keep a camera in the cup holder! It will fry the sensor. To answer your question, it is normal that the cup holder is hot because it is sitting right over the transmission. It is NOT normal to put a camera there.
