Since COE has gone down quite alot..
I'm actually thinking of getting one end of this month.

But what i source from the net... RX-8 pickup
is about 6sec.
But what I got from Singapore Mazda indicate only 7.1sec!


So, is there any different from 1st batch RX8 and the current
one?

Should I get from PI or Mazda SG?

From my understanding, MM's 8 are euro spec with the same "hi-power" engine but slightly lower output due to the euro 4 emissions standard. Thus the 0-100km/h time was revised to 7.1 secs from the original 6.4 secs. There is no difference between the 1st batch and current batch from MM, all are euro spec 8s. Personally, I think the decision whether to get from PI or MM should not be based on 0.7 secs! How often do you do 0-100 runs anyway? If a split second is that important, then maybe can consider an STI or EVO.

Oh and btw, if you want to get from MM... we have a Mazda Sales rep in this forum too :D... though I think we might have scared her off *oops* :p

Would also like to know wot's the difference between PI and MM. Is it only cost? Maybe should set up a poll on what's the percentage of the ppl here recommend PI and what percentage MM. Hee...

I also understand that MM now selling RX8 for 133988. Is this price ALWAYS fixed and they can ONLY offer extras? If the price can be bargained, then what's the likelihood of succeeding? Less than 10% success rate?

MM specs and PI specs are quite different. MM's can be found on their website. Diff PIs got diff specs so quite hard to list. Basically MM's is the highest spec'ed one
