Car Alarm

Hi Bros,

Goodday! This weekend I intend to send my ride to fix a car alarm. Is there any good ones on the market and workshops to recommend if I still wanna use my retractable key to unlock the car? Prefer one which allows adjustment to the sensitivity.

Thanks.

Save the money, cos I just read a thread few days ago stating that those pro-thief can deactivate even the best alarm with in 2-3mins.
In conclusion is if they want it they will get it.

If forgot where the thread is but its under www.mycarforum.com

Yup, I agree that nothing can stop a pro. But we still need to lock our house despite the fact that there are pro-lockpickers out there.

What I am looking for is a trustworthy alarm that can help me detect shocks, breakage of glass, etc and if possible inform me when the alarm is triggered. I will still want to keep the existing factory immobilizer intact.

Lennon: "RX8 not a target in Malaysia" -- possibly becos its not a very popular car so not easy re-sell or re-export? Or simply becos of the few in Malaysia, its numerically not stolen a whole lot? I think in SG is more about vandelism rather than being stolen.

There's about 60 or more RX8s in KL..... Sighting of RX8 is quite rare..... All your comments are quite true.... It's not popular in the eyes of thieves.....

So you finally got it. Great choice.

Alarms are quite useful if it works well. Especially if it can replace our keyless entry; bothersome to carry to controls.

Not all theives are pros. An alarm will still slow them down. They might as well steal something easier or more expensive. I think the expensive rims are more likely to be stolen first.
