Smart key function include, opening of doors and boot by just pressing a button on the key. and the Key is also retractable.[/QUOTE]

Correct me if i'm wrong. Smart Key = Intelligent Key (different terminology) ? the intelligent key i'm shown is somewat like a credit card size case. Key is not retractable but integrated into the case. With the 'keys' in ur pocket, U can open door by touching the button on the handle and crank start the engine w/o inserting any keys.

My take is if u r prepared to buy from PI, be prepared for NO warranty/after-sales service so tat into account the forgone warranty costs in ur calculation
You are right about the point of scrutinising the warranty and type of service so in the context of the example I gave, surely a PI that has a tie up with Comfort Delgro should be quite stable? I'm a newbie so really hoping to tap on everyone's experience here. Any advise?

If you own taxi, or standard piston engine cars, i'm sure comfort delgro is great. A rotary engine is another matter, and you should go to rotary specialists for servicing as far as possible.

Go try putting in mobil 1 synthetic, which my PI servicing shop wanted to put in last time, and see what happens.

Yes good point gfoo, guess need to be more thorough to see if CAS are any good at servicing the RX. On the other hand, i'm sure CAS won't just tag along with any tom dick and harry PI? So that's another point to consider?

actually, it is specifically the general workshops like Star and CAS that will go with any tom dick and harry. it's really as simple as a PI wake up one morning and decide 'come, let's send all my cars to CAS, and I'll just pay labor charges coz oil charge will still be charged back to customer. in the unlikely event of warranty claims, I'll just take out a little from my huge profits, go serangoon buy spare parts'

It is actually the rotary specialists like Garage R and MG that filter out the good from the bad.

My advice - get the cheapest package, save the money spend on the poisons you have in mind - and get your car serviced at a reliable workshop. it'll even out the same and you get better peace of mind

It's like you buy sicc membership, but the groundsmen slowly make the green die. sometimes it's not how reliable a PI is, but how good your servicing workshop is.

ok thanx. Was down at Cars Motor Enterprise today, seems that prices have increased about 3k due to anticipated COE rise. Though their internet web prices still reflected the old price.

Hi gfoo, i totally agree with your advise of buying cheap and getting it serviced by the pros, but how about recalls? In this case, if really the PI is MIA then how?
Anybody kana before?

I bought mine from HY, 1 year + liao so far have not been hit by a recall, and no one has reported probs from HY for prev recalls. Mind you, HY completely sucks and i highly advise you NOT to get from them unless you are a sicko that loves administrative abuse, tons of hassle, etc etc.

Well i approached this guy called William from HY at AML last Dec 06. Was really impressive with all his sales talk but not pushy. Pitched his sales well but i decided not to get a car from HY because he know nuts about the car specs and after sales service. Totally clueless guy.

i have never gone back to HY agent (sportswagen) as they know zilch about rotaries - please lah my time they were trying to get me to put in mobil 1 fully syn. now i think they are using royal purple, but that's not ideal as well.

my take - cannot pass unless you insist they use mineral oil.

Anyone with Vincar's servicing agent - MBM Wheelpower experience? good or not? Or for the matter I ask the reverse questions, for Garage R and MG, which are the PI that has ties with them?
