just joined this forum... and still waitig for my black 8 to arrive... just windering how many Auto RX8 are there in Singapore?? coz mine is also an auto... any difference in power, torque as compared to the 5-speed manual??

Welcome to the board.
I would not be supprise if there are more autos than the manual 6sp on the road here. I think the 5sp is not very popular here. There wasn't much write up about the 5sp as its not available for most of the market who has already launch the 8. I'll be interested to know the diff as well, but, I don't think it's gonna be much diff between the auto and 5sp at all.
So, when are you expecting yours to arrive? You got an auto?

ya, I booked an auto already, and my dealer said will be delivered to me latest 2nd march... so I just wait then... I have already ordered a few accessories and parts... and I got the alcantera leather for my 8 as well... now thinking of getting the Ing's bodykit with 18" rims... still considering... how about you?? how's the performance so far on your 6spd manual?? I heard the rev of the engine is quite loud and the low end torque is not very impressive.. izzit true??

I am one auto 8 owner here welcome......

low torque not impressive ...true....
loud sound when rev high not really.....

Power as compare to the high specs 250hp, then the auto of course will not be able to match....

The reasons i get the auto is because:-
1)tired of moving my hands so much as getting more lazy
2)I wanna let the technology to the work, and feel like formula one using pedal switch on the steering.

The fuel consumption is quite scary!!! watch out for it.....

I am thinking of ways ..and in the process of increase the hsp of my auto with natural induction and minimum modifications

wait a few more days and ya car will be here....anyway, need to drive slowly for the break -in period

Gravity isn't exaggerating! Watch the pedal! Me got only 250 km on a full tank of petrol last week!!! Usually get about 300 km.

Of course; the 8 is GREAT FUN!!! So who cares! See u around & cheers!

Sure! Btw (in case u missed it) - the auto 8 is a 4-speed not 5-speed.

As for consumption; let's say I have some VERY bad habits which really don't help!

Yo, 2nd March! That's next tuesday. That's very soon!! Alcantera Leather! Is that gonna be done locally? I just got my last week, still babying the car, can't quite advise on performance and high revs noise yet. As for low end torque, around 3-4krpm, the car does not feels like a 250bhp beast that's for sure.
I believe almost all of us here bought the car without test driving it. As for the ride, I can't commit, my timing are normally quite crazy, have got your no, will see, but no promise.
