anyone knows how to increase the idle rpm to 900? mechanic claims it's electronic throttle, so can't be adjusted.....
Don't think it is too lean. It is the amount of air that enters the chamber. Even if you inject more fuel and burn richer, you will still have the same rpm but slightly cooler exhaust. Get someone to check the valve?

which valves? do u know any place who's competent? my pi mechanic sucks.

i realise when i start the car in the morning, the rpm will go up to 2000 then slowly settle to 1000 after a short while. no vibrations when i drive then. after the temp reaches half, the rpm drops to 700...

Hi 8citing. If it's any consolation, me have the same problem as u and it interrupts me nap!

Apparently it's normal for our RX - so nothing can be done... But if u do find a way out, pls let me know! Cheers!

I been driving for the past 2mths + ..hmm...apparently the vibration is there when the aircon kicks in too....but not that obvious and bearable. Perhaps a good grounding and voltage stablizer will be good? any comments?

Naughty, glad u could bear with it.

Watoke, i think it was neon who told me his 8 vibrations were reduced after changing the spark plugs. He also had volt stabilizer and ground kit if i'm correct; but didn't help much.

I'm thinking of the carzoomer/unichip. But need to find out how much can the AFR be tuned....

hm.... i am driving AT also.... i find that i have those vibration when i engage reverse.... sometimes when i engage 'D', it does vibrate excessively, but not severe as compared to when i engage the reverse gear.... anyone experiencing this problem too? i always engage to 'P' and rev a little to stop the vibration.

Hi guys, tune in late.....my mechanic told me our engine mounting consists only 2 (can someone verify this), so it tends to vibrate more than other normal cars
especially when you're driving in hot days than at night(cooler),anyone agree with that? I m pretty sure other sedan cars have more than 2 engine mountings.

Any experts outda, pls confirm how many engine mountings our RX8 have???
Some sedan cars already 5 years old but dun vibrate that much & it won't be due to our idling control valve cos some of us driving it less than 1/2 year!

SONE, its true the vibrations are more pronounced when the ambient temperature is hotter.

Also, the 8 has only 2 engine mounts. But these mounts are larger than normal sedans'.

agree. if its right in the hot sun then its shaking real bad.

BTW guys, have problem with the brakes. they squeal like anything plus its both irritating and embarassing. For those who got their problem solved by MM please let me know what they did so i can feed back to PI and if they still dont rectify it then its time to get cambodian on their A** 24/7

sgren, MM simply changed the brake pads of those who have squealing brakes but apparently woot's brakes started squealing again. *shrug* Not sure about others who had their brake pads replaced by MM.

Asked a few of my mechanic friends about the squeal...they say good brake pads definitely will squeal....so they tell me change pads also no use...after a while it will squeal again. hope this helps becos mine also make a lot of noise.

think once in a while go to the tire shop and use the "air blower" thing and spray on the brakes. it helps.

If you're still around, can you tell us if that fixed the problem? I have a problem so bad it seems like the doors will fall off the hinges when they're open. Next service guy who tells me its normal is gonna get busted in the chops.

i guess its normal for 8 to vibrate ...like wat is in the previous treads, the 8 has only 2 mounting. i got mine replaced a year ago....it decrease the level of vibration. Hence you guys can try to replaced it. i did it in MOVA . Hope this helps..
