Hi Guys, i hv received my key too, but....... there is a problem!!

My car is from MM. There is no problem with registering the key to start the engine but i can't get the lock n unlock function to work. I hv checked with Er28 on the steps but it still don't work. So MM bros pls hold on.. i will check with MM asap.

Damn.... hope my $300 dun get flushed down

 

Mi same prob. Car from MM. Was able to register the key/bypass immobiliser but cannot use the lock/unlock function.

So MM bros hold ur horses!

Guys, I suggest checking with rx8garage. They'd be able to provide a quicker response or resolution. MM....u can try ur luck.

does the trunk button work? pi cars n mm cars r jdm...unless i'm wrong. so it should work since my pi car accepted the remote.

MM car is European spec. The designated model number is FE32. Jap RX8 model is SE3P.

All MM owner can forget abt getting the retractable key. Seems the frequency of MM car and the retractable key frequency range is totally out!!! In other words, there is no way to program the retractable key to accept the MM car original fob frequency so u cannot use the lock/unlock/boot button!

Expensive experiment failed sob sob.

 

Sorry to hear it won't work for us MM buyers....but since I almost bot the key you saved me $300 so now I owe you a beer

Hey guys, any chance of getting a refund or at least a partial since they claimed that "the key works on all 2004 rx8 and 2005"? Worth a shot at least...

 

Was at MM yesterday to try if they can program the key.......but they sucks... they knw nuts abt that key and was surprised where i got it. They wanted charge me $60 for trying to program the key which they failed to do so.. and i refuse to pay.
Sigh... they still pretty slow in providing the necessary support

Tks for trying. That was the response I expected so I didn't even bother going down. The seller is trying to check around and see how to solve the prob. I asked him to try their European owners (hopefully same spec as us).

 

Worst come to worst my suggestion to you, maybe sell to anyone who RX8 from PI who need a spare keys

 

sad to hear that.... well guys... another option.. keep the key frame it up as a souvinor...

 

EBS, like i suggested... try those electronics shops who sells remotes. If they can actually change the electronics module in the 2005 fob with one that fits and works with ur car's frequency.

hey guys, i don't know about s'pore, but in malaysia, the key makers found in major malls (One Utama, Midvalley Mall, KLCC) have car remote replacements! If you're in KL, maybe it's worth a shot...

Can all MM owner who bot the key and cannot work report to RX8 garage??
So far I am the only one who reported and he claimed so far the only one from singapore. He can't do anything yet so if there are more reports, maybe he can try something.

 

go to suntec city... there is this cobbler and key maker who also does car remote control........ he has a banner outside his shop with pictures of car remote control...... he may noe how to do it...

its at the basement, very near the fountain of wealth. It is hidden in some corner...... those shop that duplicate ur keys and mend ur shoes.....

shld be not hard to find.
