I have 225/18 tyres on my auto 8. Getting 400km per tank (abt 8km/l) based on the 2 tanks I have so far. If you go 235 or 245 tyres, expect less than that.

I'm still running in so seldom :p exceed 4k rpm...

p.s. some say the FC goes up after running in... but I need to see for myself

The price varies significantly depends on what you're getting - size of rims, type/brand of tyres, brand of rims, forged or casted, etc, etc. You can be looking at a $1000 to $5000+ range... so long as you're not getting magnesium rims :p

To avoid being ripped off, check out the prices at different shops. One good guide is Stamford Singapore, which being a big listed company, they have prices clearly displayed. If you can get prices lower than theirs, you're pretty safe imho.

As for trading in, most places do take in the rims+tyres if the tyres are in very good conditions. I had only 200km on the tyres when I traded in. Not sure what is the upper limit though.

Hope these help.

if u are talking abt original rims, be prepared to fork out at least 1k per rim plus tyre....

Best i ever got is 440km on 55 litres and got person to vouch for me. I couldve gotten a better mileage but the temptation to rev is just to great. It can be acheived, just have to drive more on the expressway and keep a constant speed of anything between 70-90km/h.
Try to avoid traffic lights as best as you can, accelerate lightly from standstill, dont turn on aircon (this REALLY drinks) and for ventilation just wind down window abit.
I just tried it once to see how far it can go but normally i get about 340-380km roughly.

400km diffcult but possible lah. maybe 16 inch rims or 18 inch forge rims.
but if you drive the 8 like a normal car, purpose defeated. the 8 was born to rev.

got a few days, i let my hair loose and rev happy.
damn shiok! but onli managed 310km. LOL!

Feh, I managed 350km before i chickened out. The needle was a little too close to 0 for my comfort. That's based on normal city drive, and sometimes at night *cough* got rev a bit.. not much, just a lil bit...

btw how many kms can the 8 manage after the low fuel light comes on?

My estimate is that there is about 5-8 litres left when the light comes on, which means you should get 30km or slightly more.

I read somewhere we have a 60-litre tank? I usually top up 51 litres or so when the light comes on. So I guess we have 8 litres or so left. Work out the distance left based on your own FC, which differs significantly depends on how you drive :p
