Now let me see .. boy-racer add-ons that make the car look as tacky as an Impreza or spend my money on a decent engine upgrade that would restore it to 250bhp ... no contest ...

But, if I were to choose bodywork mods they would be:

* A curvy, not too large spoiler that would stop the rear end looking so Ford

* A new, never seen before, fuel filler cap (not like the Audi TT cheap copy) ... maybe a rotary triangular thing

As for the strafes ... they look great on Titanium, but look naff on the red

I agree really - I guess just a proper spoiler is what I want, the mazdaspeed one is cool for me, I agree the rest of the kit at the back looks great but may look bad without the rest.

Andy, can you ask if thats possible. My deals is T W Whites too, but not bookham, the Weybridge one - but still if a silver one can be ordered I would love one.

I can go through Surindah @ Weybridge, but whehn I spoke to Rob there @ Henley he didn't know about the Mazdaspeed kit ordering.

I think I'll only be ordering the strakes / strafes. I may be interested in the rotary accents but I'd want to see them first. The prices are far too high though - bad show Mazda - you should be treating your pre-orderes with some of these things!

Why will cruise control not be available in the UK as an option(or even as standard kit)? The Mazda 6 has it. Only option I would like is on time delivery....

Chris, my dealer principal has already mentioned that, he would offer me an accessories voucher for the delay. He didn't state what its value would be though, but I sure as hell expect some generosity after the wait, paying full fat price and deletion of cruise control (I really wanted it) on UK spec cars.

I would be nice if the dealers do come up with some sort of discount for us 'oldies' but cannot see it, especially if the expected waiting list will materialise.

I agrere that the back need livening up, so maybe better spoiler and exhaust surround and also better chrome exhaust endings (whatever they may be called).

Si,

I only really looked for the Mazdaspeed items. If you go to www.mazda.co.jp/mazdaspeed - all the items are listed with a price in Yen next to them.

As for the "standard" accessories, I'm not sure as I haven't really looked at them in great detail yet. If they are not listed next to the items on the site, then I don't know where else you could find them.

I have the Japanese brochures at home so I'll have a look in there but I don't remember seeing the prices (probably on a seperate price-list).

I know Whites were going to try and pack the kits in with a few imports that they had coming over on a container, which would mean the shipping would be very small (free? :/). I don't know if they've managed this. It's one of the things I need to ask when I speak to them. I'll try calling later this morning.

Oh and one big definate I left off the list.......

Get my 250ps back!! (as soon as it's worked out how!)

With accessories being mentioned in another thread, and talks of a group buy I thought I'd just post to say I haven't forgotten about speaking with Whites. Unfortunately though, the manager there has gone on holiday til the end of next week, and since it was him whom I was dealing with regarding the kit imports etc, i'll have to wait until he returns to find out what is possible.

Did see this though on another thread elsewhere on the forum - http://www.japanparts.com. All the Mazdaspeed and Mazda parts. Maybe we could get a group buy arranged through these guys if Whites are unable to do it/turn out to expensive?

That would be great sixspeed, please keep us posted.

I am very, very tempted by the stafes (Air Outlet Garnish Set) and the price on the link you provided looks far more sensible than the £275 being mentioned elsewhere.

Still £125 is a fair amount of cash for 2 pairs of aluminium strips.

Damn right Danny, its alot of money for these strips. I'm assuming thet are really made from metal, otherwise they are definately not work it. There will be other accessory agents that will knock them out cheaper, maybe mx5parts.com ?

I understand that Mazda are looking at the accessories prices, and that's the reason why they have not yet been published, but don't hold any hopes for big reductions. - However I have heard that the prices seen so far may include VAT and fitting.

But until then my extras are:

Private Plate
Tinted Widows
Paint Protector finish
Tracker
Stakes
Front and rear rotary emblem.

The rest is mighty fine as it is.:p

I don't think we in the UK can have the rear rotary emblem as the Fog Light makes it impossible to fit it.

I agree with the rest though, although I have not bought a plate yet as I am undecided.

What prices are people referring too? Or is it yet again another SPECULATION thread?

T W Whites are importing Mazdaspeed kits from Japan (I believe one kit in every colour, and a couple in the popular colours). They can import anything else from Mazda sources in Japan as well. I would be happy to speak with them in arranging some sort of group buy for us all. It will work out a lot cheaper for us all if more items are ordered at once.

I intend to speak with T W Whites tomorrow or this weekend regarding a few additional items, so I will mention that there are more people on here that want accessories and see what they can do.

-andy-
Again speculation, If any of you have ever been to Japan you iwll know how expensive it is. How can you just say ok it's Ichi Man yen then convert it back to GBP?

Ummm, because that's the price in YEN that is displayed on the Mazdaspeed website? That is the price of the parts in Japan.

As far as Mazdaspeed parts are concerned, we are not expected to see them officially over here. T W Whites are importing them from Japan and as such will be buying from Mazdaspeed direct for prices not far off those on the website. I already said that shipping costs are uncertain. The conversion from Yen to GBP gives a likely idea of the *MINIMUM* cost that the Mazdaspeed kits will be available at from Whites, since I doubt they're going to sell them at a loss.

As for the Mazda accessories, a brief look at prices in Japan, and in the US gives a good estimate of what we'll end up paying over here. But I admit that there is speculation involved on this part. However, I was really talking about the Mazdaspeed parts in my previous post, not Mazda Accessories.

Thanks for your help though.

There were some 'suggested' prices on display by Mazda when we went to the static displays that they organised.

There are a couple of references to getting together a group-buy for some of these accessories

Unfortunately group-buys are currently considered to be against the T&Cs of the forums, and so we can't do that.

Is there a good reason for this? (no group-buys).

I can't see what effect (bad) it has on the forum?

The problem is with commercial advertising. A group-buy will very quickly attract suppliers to advertise their prices etc. Advertising is not permitted without prior permission.

So the issue is not about us going out looking for discounts, it is with the inevitable reaction from the commercial sector.

The admins are quite happy to sell the advertising space however.

If anyone really wants to go down this route (and if there is a bargain to had, why not), then the prospective vendor needs to seek permission.
