Slightly Worried

I received a message from my dealer today, after a week of unreturned phone calls.

His first words were "I haven't been trying to avoid you" although everytime I called he was with a customer or on the phone, curiously enough I was always told this after giving my name.

Anyway my original query was can they see the progress of my order through their on-line system.

The answer I got was slightly worrying.

He could see approximately 5 orders with specified dates (i don't know if this was build, shipping or delivery dates) and there were approximately 5 orders he could only see as Accepted. He said that the orders with the dates were the ones placed by themselves and the others (including mine) were internet orders.

Another worrying thing was that he said that some of their orders had received information from Mazda about delivery, has anyone heard anything, because I haven't?

These two things combined have made me worried that I won't be in the first 1000 (or 500 customer cars) even though I have a Black High Power with leather and no sat nav or moonroof and order no 255.

Don't Panic!

Firstly I'm an internet orderer and I know I'm in the first 1000 because I got the book. Did you get a book?

Secondly: I'll bet the dates he mentions are the order placement dates and nothing to do with delivery.

Thirdly: no one has got delivery information from Mazda UK yet. They aren't committing to a specific month until later in August and certainly not a day!

Lastly: If you look at your order on the preorder website it is specified as 'Accepted'. This will be the status he can see for your order. There's a difference in the way that Mazdas' systems 'see' the dealer and web orders but don't let it worry you.

Chris,

I wouldnt be too worried as yet. From what I was told, even Mazda arent sure what cars are on the boat until it is loaded and on water, which is Wednesday.

I would think with your order no and spec you are still in with an early chance.

I think that Dealers, whilst mostly trying to be helpful, often are a little creative with the truth, not realising their comments will get back to other people. As they didnt seem to want to take your call, maybe they just told you something to get you off their backs. All speculation of course :D

Thanks for the reassurance.

I did get the book and welcome pack etc.

You know how sometimes despite all the evidence to the contrary you worry about things you have heard.
