I bought an oil catch can and a new air filter so hopefully I won't have any more oil getting in my intake

The filter should be here by the end of August so my run around Nurburgring will be a good way to break it in.

Night shifts are the worst! I can't ever seem to get anything done during the day without feeling completely exhausted.

I go to sleep as soon as I get home and only manage to get up at around 1400 and then I got another hour or two to mess around before I have to get ready for work again.

I work 12's 4/3 and 5/2 alternating each week. So 12 hours at work, 40 minutes driving (roundtrip) 8hours sleeping and 30 minutes to get ready doesn't leave me with a lot of free time.

Well my schedule is changing in Sept so I'm not sure if I'll have the same days off or not. I have a new filter coming in so I want to try to get to Nurburgring at the end of August.

haha that sucks. Speed traps are so common around here. I never speed on any well-used roads. Between Nurburgring and Hockenheimring I can get my speed fix taken care of. Plus there are some sweet twisties near my house.

We're leaving from Rome on september, 13th at 4am and should be there by night ready to eat. There's a race on the 14th and then we'll be able to lap on the 15-16th
I'll post our program as soon as it's clearer, we're buying the 15 laps passes that's for sure!

Dude 15 laps is too much. Neither you or your car will be able to handle that much haha.

I would never have the stamina for that much driving. Too worried about my tires to do that many laps. They got pretty heated up when I did Hockenheimring so I only did 1 heat. I'm too conservative I think sometimes, but then again it's better than smashing your car into the rails as I've seen too many people do.

For the stamina, my first times on the track in 2006 I could only do 4 laps. I've worked myself up to be able to do a good bit in a day. With a much needed nap after the track closes. The most in a row I've ever done is 6, with my brakes and tires finally starting to fade. I've seen a lot of people hit the walls and I've experienced the wall this year too. With the RX8 I inspect it every time before I go to the track, with that I'm on my second set of tires and Ht-10's brake pads this year.

15 laps in 2 days should be ok. We probably won't use semislicks but something with a tad higher wear pattern so they should last for both the track and the trip back
