Run in period?
When I picked up my RX8 last week (Red, Red/Black leather, high power) I asked the dealer about run in period and he told me there really wasn't one. The service manager said just to go for it and enjoy those revs. I've heard a few people saying thats the official line (handbook) but over on the US board a lot of guys are keeping those revs well down for a few thousand miles. Whats the consensus here? Can you resist, or does the RENISIS not need such hand holding?
I've red lined it a few times (very sweet) and a couple of mild thrashes at lunch time but in general been around 4/5k. Only up to 350 miles so far, so am thinking I'll continue going easy-ish for a while yet.

I think mild thrashing now and then below 7/8k does no harm, so my dealer said, just don't redline until you have reached about 600 miles. With so few moving parts and an engine meant you will not do any harm.

Just remember to let it warm up properly first !!!
Apart from that go for it. I on the other hand have not hit the buzzer yet in 450 miles. Just cowardice and the fact that the M25 doesn't move that fast.
