Motordrivelive info
Just talked to Mazda.
The RX-8 will be at motordrive live but wont be available to actualy drive, display car only.
Its a winning blue pre production with cloth interior.
As to any other info all they knew was the 8 will be at motorexpo also.
No other info available. I did comment on the lack of info/news.

Rats! Well I expected it to be a static display only but it's still a disappointment to have it confirmed. If it's got 'Formula Wimmin' stickers on it then I'll be forced to torch it for the public good!

Better than nothing though! However, Titanium Grey with leather would have been nice.
When is everyone going, we are staying a few miles away with relatives that weekend, so i'll be there bright and early on Sunday morning for my 6 driving slots.

I will be there on the saturday for the AM driving slot.
I expected Mazda to just display it, but I will be happy to just see it!
Plus it sounds like a fun day out, so I will definately be there.

Thanks for the info. There was a chance I would go but wont bother now.
Thought the chance of driving an RX8 before the press get hold of one would be too good to be true.

Site Update
The Motordrive live site has been updated!
the who's there section now has a section for each exhibitor with a list of cars that can be driven, info. on cars that will be on static display.
Mazda seem to be really pushing th RX-8, the mention it in 3 out of the 4 paragraphs.

Sounds good to me - Winning Blue is the colour I'm spec'ing mine in, plus it'll be nice to see one in the flesh and get to sit inside.
I'll be there on the Sat too...

I got mine on Friday.
Was quite surprised to see it says 'Under 25 Years' on the front.
Wasn't sure whether to be flattered or worried.
Apparently this will be removed when you register.

This is probably going to peeve people off, but in the News of the World on Sunday, you could phone up a number and request a free 'non drivers' ticket to Motordrive live. I don't think it was on a stupid £1 a second line or anything, but probably not going to go as it's about 200 miles away for me!
Cheers

I have booked tickets for the monday afternoon.
I thought that with this event I could arrive early in the morning, spend the morning looking at the cars, and book drives for the afternoon,
But no.
With an afternoon ticket I cannot gain access to the show until after 12.30.
Why ???

When I talked to motordrive live they explicit;y said (after a lot of questioning) that I could be there all day i.e. gain entry in the morning, AND book my drives in the AM for a PM driving slot.
Phone em and check.
