rotaryfx is, in my opinion the best site on the net for rx8 parts. Everything is very high quality at a great price and shipping is right on the button too both moneywise and timewise...

What do you guys think of driving the RX-8 in snow/ice on summer tyres, fun isn't it
Here in Dublin snow is relatively rare and it sure takes getting used to, what a driving experience, but not for the faint hearted.

It's fun driving any rear wheel drive car on snow and ice! Hope everyone gets to work safely tomorrow. Leave early and take it easy!

IE rx8 insurance

Couldn't agree more on the roads, especially driving in the estate's!!!!

On, another note lads, my car insurance is up for renewal
Note, im 27, 4 years no claims in my own name and ful license for 7 years.
However hibernian have increased my insurance from 830 to 1850, obviously, made a complaint so waiting to hear back from them. Getting the "its a 2.6 litre" crap from them, which it obviously isn't

In the meantime Ive tried the following
Quinn, Allianz, fbd would not insure me
25plus have to ring me back
axa will insure me for 1100
bestquote for 1950

Any idea's? Thanks

You should try First Ireland. My renewal was €2300 with Aviva through Arran Insurance last month. First Ireland gave me fully comp with all the bells and whistles for €1550. I'm 24 with 4 years NCB and I've had my license since 2004 and have 4 penalty points. Also, just to add another 4 here, my 8 is an '04 I insured it for €10,000.

Their number is 01/8820800. Look for Stuart Miller and tell him David Corcoran sent ya

Great fun this morning on the roads :D Wish people would cop on and learn how to drive in snow/ice - how can i in a rear wheel drive get around better than so many front wheel drives?

Anyway paulm - I've a 04 am 27 with 10 years full license and hibernian tried to rape me before. Previously i knocked them down from a €2300 renewal(up from €1600!) to €1300. I'm now with 123.ie for about €870 i think so definitely give them a shot. Oh and i only had 2 yrs no claims as i had an accident 2.5yrs ago

Yes, good advice, 123.ie are the cheapest so far for me, for 805, but I will continue to shop around.

yeh, once you stop in these conditions it can be very difficult to get going again. But to be caught on national television would be most embarrassing.

Paul - Stuart told me himself that you always get a better price if you ring them rather than filling out forms online

O'Renesis - It's the first time since X-Men 2 that I've seen the 8 on TV apart from Top Gear, Fith Gear etc. lol People might start bad-mouthing it now because of RTfuckenE!

Just seen it now on last nights news on the rte player. Not as bad as the 4wd range rover though imo.

I found that DSC was best turned off when driving on ice as the traction control kept stopping the wheels when I needed them to keep driving. We (Irish) don't get enough practice driving in these slippery conditions so as soon as there is a few inches of snow the whole country comes to a standstill.

Hi David,
Got a call back from them after filling in a form online.
They gave me the following quote/plan, which Im delighted with, works out as 848, as I plan to pay it over 10 months.

I just need to get my documents filled in, but im 90% sure I will go with them, just a word to say thanks.

No problem at all Paul. It's good to get insurance rates down for everyone! Regarding the referral thing, when I was talking to Stuart he just said that if I referred anyone to ask them to mention it. That's all!

Hope everything works well for you.

Dave
