Further Dealer Update

Spoke to my man;

- hi power cars in launch colours only including their demos to arrive late Oct

- lo power cars plus other colours in Nov

- I threatened to cancel my order and was told just to let him know (ie so what.....).

Dealer PR is a ******* joke, as is Mazda UK. Deomo's arriving same day as mine. They have us by the short & curlies and I cannot see any reduction in price, or accessories or any other goodwill being offered.

Maybe this is because my expectations have been set so low in the last few months, but this sounds like good news to me.

There will be at least two shippments this year. The fact that the low power and non-launch colours are arriving in November, surely implies that all the launch colour high power cars will arrive in October, as they are supposed to get here first. So most of us will get our cars sometime in November at the latest (allowing time for delivery through the dealer network). Until now we'd only been told that deliveries would start in October with no indication of how quickly they would be fullfilled.

Also, I am glad that demo cars are arriving first. I am not committing to buying this car until I drive it, so the sooner I get behind the wheel of a demo car the better, even if it's only one week before my car arrives.

rael -

Out of interest , given that the dealer only told you exactly what you already knew (i.e. likely delivery etc) what were you hoping for ?

Rael,

I must confess that this is what we already know, isn't it?

Reading between the lines, at least this indicates that we should have our cars latest November:D

Can't wait!

You sound depressed, can the Oilman cheer you up with a nice piccie of your RX8, what angle would you like sir??

Cheers

So Demo's arriving same day as our cars?

GREAT!

That means I can test drive the demo, then get RIGHT INTO MY CAR!

Nothings forcing you to collect your own car before you've had a test drive of the demo car.

I just wanted confirmation of the sad facts from my dealers. Also, wanted to find out what Bishop Stortford was all about as originally he thought that he would pick up and drive back his demo!!!!! :p

Real highpoint is the apathy received on threatening to cancel! They really don't care and the same attitute will force us to pay top price for everything else irrespective of delays.

I'm back on the double C (Cancelation Consideration) after I saw a wonderful S reg XKR over the week-end which would fit my budget.

Rael,

I dont think you went to the preview event, but in the nice fold out brochure thingy I got at the preview event last week there is a Q&A section.

It clearly states that "The first cars available will be 231ps models but there will only be a limited number available this month. The balance of the existing 231ps cars will be delivered in November"

Mazda have now been quite clear on this for a while now, and as production has started, I see no reason for it to change.
