No worries Si.
I should pick mine up during the last week of November.
Only 1 problem though - there are 2 other RX8's of the same colour in cambridge, both of them are forumn members (Lensman and ????).
Perhaps we could go out in a trio and kill us some saxo's?
Hope you enjoyed your drive

You, me, Jon Brittan and a woman who had her car unveiled at the Priory Mazda open night last friday. All Titanium Greys. Nice car Renegade. I also saw a silver that night and liked it a lot. Please bear in mind that I normally dislike silver cars so it's an anomaly.

This is the keys and the alarm/immobiliser set. Different to the ones on the test drive cars in September (the press cars from July).
The alarm box is a LOT larger. IN fact, bleeding uncomfortable.
Theres 4 buttons on it.
Top right - lock doors and set alarm (lights flash once)
Bottom right - unlock (lights flast twice)
Top left - press this after you set the alarm/lock. It keeps the main alarm but disables the interior movement sensors. For kids when you lock them in (already used it tonight!) (lights flash 4 times)
Bottom Left - boot release.
You get 2 alarm thingies and 3 keys. The one without the shiny silver mazda logo is the master that you mustn't lose or else can't make another key from it. The other 2 keys are identical.
The Mazda fobs are from the dealer, T W Whites. Not sure if this is what everyone else will get too - dealers name and address stamped on the back

and then this one....this is when you turn off the ignition and the lights and go to leave the car. Nic dark blue. I know its dark here, but I didn't want to lighten the picture to give the best contrast with the others. The main one is soooo bright in comparison!

ooh by the way, note the position of the fuel gauge - 41 miles since filling to the brim and already its 1/8th gone. So estimation of 320 miles range on a tank? (71 miles in total now. sob its not new any more!)

renegade-si,
On the issue of number plates and your choice, I wonder if anyone is going to take up the option of H8RXB (Hate RX 8) which is also available. It will take a braver man than me.

So sweet. I love the back spoiler. Very happy I decided to go without on mine renegade ( hey did you take that name from the old 8 bit computer games :-) ). I just need to find out if I can purchase it overseas. Coming home to UK in 3 weeks, perhaps I can swing by a Mazda Dealership.
I just purchased a Fuel Lid for my sunlight RX8. All the pics are on my site.
Just clocked 4000 miles, I rem the days of 50 miles, sigh...
All the best, and cheers for the pics.

Irish in a RX8 - erm yes I did. I used to work for US Gold, and Renegade was Ocean. I was always a guy who did things my way (when I was younger at least!) and so the handle stuck about 10 years ago.

sweet car renegade,
looks great in the silver (my second choice)
I was using a company 3 series yesterday and it's amazing to note that the '8 is better in every department, handling, visibility, interior layout, power, braking, stability (it's been blowing gales up here)
I know i keep coming back to this point, but every other car has the hand brake in the wrong place, why has it taken so long for someone to come up with that scimitar brake lever and position.
so many nice touches, so little daylight left to enjoy them.

Congratulations
I got my silver car yesterday and was far too busy to visit the forum. How long do you think the grin on my face will last, I'm in danger of doing a passable impression of Jack Nicholson's Joker:D :D :D
I've already been stopped by 4 people in the street asking about the car and turned so many heads, can't wait to run it in and give it some serious hammer, how long do you think you'll be able to resist the lure of the buzzer

Thanks mate - oh by the way I was told porkies about the keys - the grey one is not the master, but the valet parking key which doesn't allow you to unlock/lock the rear centre and the glove box etc...you need the code on the keyring (DONT LOSE THAT!) its only a little metal number that you may be tempted to throw away - thats the code they use to make a new key /immobiliser for you...

Did the price for the RX8 turn out higher than what was advertised? I know here in Philadelphia local dealers are charging 35K and over ( not inc tax etc )

renegade_si...how cool is that rear light cluster...you know I thought I had been all over these cars with a fine tooth-comb about 100 times but I have never noticed that amazing rear view as shown from your rear lip spoiler pic..
