First Silver car owner - me?

Hi all.

renegade_si 11-05-2003 12:24 PM

and its great from this side too.

renegade_si 11-05-2003 12:26 PM

Note the funny little downlights from the wingmirrors that morgan was on about.

rael 11-05-2003 12:38 PM

Well done, looks good although it needs the rotary crest in front.

I'll get the silver paint out at the weekend :)

Irish_in_a_RX8 11-05-2003 12:45 PM

Nice to see the silver in the UK at last. Is the fog light standard ?

renegade_si 11-05-2003 12:52 PM

yes sir, it is - nice banner irish!

oh and I got my 1 litre of oil in the boot! Weird yet cool - all velcroed in a zip up bag.

thats great! I got my Sunlight RX8 on July 26th. I moved from the UK to the USA just for that! j/k

Love the spoiler...the US spoilers are bigger, and I cant say I favour them. Would you be able to post a closeup of that if you ever get a chance?

renegade_si 11-05-2003 01:16 PM

Sure, will do it now....it'll be in the garage though...

renegade_si 11-05-2003 01:28 PM

renegade_si 11-05-2003 01:34 PM

That one was at an angle so you can see under it....
this ones straighter (hic!)

renegade_si 11-05-2003 01:35 PM

oops....need to do the post reply button to allow me to do images...

renegade_si 11-05-2003 01:41 PM

heres one of ma baby in her house...sleeping like a pussycat (with buckets and things all around - heheh!)

that plate sure is reflective isn't it!

Murphy 11-05-2003 01:41 PM

Nice one si, congratulations!

The silver really does show off the curves on this car very nicely.

renegade_si 11-05-2003 01:44 PM

it was actually, believe it or not, the first time I had seen a silver today....not sure if I prefer the Titanium Grey....its a toughie.... I'm happy though that I didn't go red in the end though. Sorry guys. Too flat under a dull light...

Murphy 11-05-2003 01:50 PM

I would have gone for silver if it wasn't for the fact that my last 2 cars were silver. I was also tempted by the black but its a "high maintenance" colour so that ruled it out.

Saw a 6 in Titanium when I visited the dealer and liked it a lot, so Titanium it is!

Murphy 11-05-2003 01:53 PM

Just noticed... in the second picture is that a passer by? The car certainly seems to have caught their attention! :)

Jon H 11-05-2003 01:55 PM

Its a gem, the good thing is it will stay shiny a lot longer than my black one which is already a bit mucky.
Saw a silver and a grey on the way up the M1 to pick mine up (the first I had seen on the road). Also saw a red one at my dealer. What gets me is that in the flesh each colour takes on its own character, almost like they are different cars. Cant think of another car that pulls that off the same way. Every colour looks great in its own way, but very impressed with the silver. Hope you love yours as much as I do! Initial thoughts on the driving experience? Or will I find those on a different thread....?

...murphy...hehe theres been a couple of comments on this one now - its the missus walking up our drive - realising how much we've spent on a ..... car! ulp!

Still a quick trip to McDs for tea and all but one now of the finding nemo toys for our 3 year old and all was well. Even better, both the 1 month old's rock a tot seat fitted behind me, and the 3 years olds maxi cosi priori fitted behind the missus'. Yaaay!

Stuartt 11-05-2003 01:58 PM

Well done si :D

Jon H.....no mate, haven't typed a thing yet, traffic has been terrible. Got 52 miles on the clock now. Best thing was the bursting with pride driving it from Weybridge to Byfleet to pick up the mats from the T W Whites there. People did stop in the street and look! I even had a couple of blokes in the big Marks and Sparks/Tescos - in the tescos petrol station walk straight up to the front and kneel down in front of it - I dont think they were bowing, but you never know!

renegade_si 11-05-2003 02:05 PM

Jon, whats really funny is that I'm changing my homepage at the moment to put the rotary gif on it and I've been looking for a post of yours - last I remember was the Newbury/ep3 slag off thread and then I got it then find you've posted here!

I'm glad you are dead happy with yours, and I agree about the colours taking on a different look. Maybe we're just mad with overload now after the famine that preceeded it!

renegade_si 11-05-2003 02:09 PM

Right, I'm off to go and drive around for a couple of hours, so if you are around Surrey/hants/berks you may see me!!!

Will take my 3 yr old...

Si

renegade_si 11-05-2003 02:10 PM

...oh sorry Stuartt didn't see you popping in there! Thanks mate! Whens yours due?
