Finishing Line Is In Sight!!

Some of us have been fortunate to already have taken delivery of our cars (not me persoanlly). But I suppose the majority of us have about 12-15 days to ago, hang in their guys we are nearly there (I hope). Another point to mention - The 8 has been available to some customers for about 2 weeks - I still have not seen one on the road!!!, I think Mazda have got one thing right out of this mess - This car is going to be a rare sight on the roads for half a year or so. Looking forward to seeing all those envious TT/BMW drivers!!!!!!!!!!

Where abouts in Berks are you? I could always drive past your house on Saturday - but I'd hate to see you sobbing in the rear view.

Hold on in there, not much longer and you'll driving yours with a smile so big, you'd have to have it surgically removed for funerals :D

Cheers

Not seen another one yet (on the road).

Public reaction is amazing. I have had people stop just to gawp at the car ! Quite un-nerving in a traffic jam when you can feel the eyes upon you.....

I've not had so many people looking at me since the rear baffles went in my exhaust, and I had to drive through the centre of town to the garage. The sound from the V6 inside the car was enough to make your ears bleed.

But at least with the RX8 the looks are of admiration and not fear!

Sexy Rexy as luck would have it, I'll be in Reading on Saturday afternoon, somewhere in that maze of Lower Earley. Find yourself a good vantage point to watch me get the tail out on those roundabouts at the Winnersham triangle :D

Cheers

This has been eating at me for the last day or so but I guess i'm just jealous...

One of my work friends found out I'd pre-ordered my RX-8 and said his Mrs was looking for a car - was interested in my Celica, so I said cool, let her have a drive of it and she liked it.

After hearing about the RX-8 they went to their local dealer down in Dorest somewhere and booked a test drive.

Came back from my holiday last week and met the guy, asked him how they'd like the RX-8 and he said they'd loved it - AND WE'VE GOT ONE.

Huh? Turns out the dealer had one, a cancelled order I guess, black with black leather and quite a few accessories, and said you can have that now for the list price + leather.

So not only am I not the first one at work with one, but he's not buying my Celica either... back to the drawing board on trade ins etc...

Lucky swine - so the tenouous link to this thread is that I've seen one on the road, they drove past me at some lights on the way into work this morning.

Just saw the printed out listing at my dealer that said my car arrived in the Rotterdam compound this monday ... I'm guessing yours will be there too. Best case that means our cars will be at the dealers early next week
