Point is that 350 and RX8 continully compared to each other, being released same time etc and obviously there will be more unrealised demand for the 350 which will increase/ hold up 2nd hand prices. If everyome who wants a new RX8 can get one then our 2nd hand prices will not be so solid.

Having said that there has really been no RX8 advertising and with the womns race and other media events highlighting the car plus additional car reviews perhaps 3300 cars will not be enough. certainly the 350 will be a rarer sight on the roads.

Thanks Rael, that was exactly my point

From a personally selfish point of view, if demand outstrips suplly of this car for the first 12/18 months it will mean high residuals when I come to sell.

I do agree that more people will want the RX8 once it is advertised and people see them in the flesh. Not sure how much the Formula Woman series will effect the general public, but I think the X-men movie will generate a lot of interest in May.

And to think I was getting pissed of with Warrington for not placing my order till the morning of Monday the 3rd. I was going to tell them I wanted to transfer my business to Stockport!

Good job I didn't, looks like they were even later than Warrington in placing their orders.

The EP numbers are in the order of first come (via the order site) first served, pre order dates apparently have no bearing on your position in the queue. That is based purely on EP number, ie. when your dealer placed your order.

Kenco,

Which dealer was it ?, just wondering as you are one less than me and there was a suggestion that EP numbers were allocated in blocks to dealers.

I have ordered a low power car.
My order no. is RX8-EP1039
Ordered on 9th March
I pressume the first 1000 orders are for Hi power as the low power cars are in the next batch.
It does not seem dealer related. My dealer is Knightsbridge in Stockport.

Sixspeed,

If I recall, Winning Blue wasn't one of the launch colours, so perhaps that explains the higher number....

And just for the record, I ordered mine on September 2nd 2002.

High Power, Black with Black Leather Interior and Sunroof.

My EP number is 407, so it would appear that I may win the record for early orders with the dealer! I understood that all of the dealers could only order from the same date anyway, so the EP numbers will probably bear no relevance other than a Mazda code.

For the record has anybody seen the red/black interior? I may be tempted to change my order unles it looks like a hair dressers car.

As for the numbers being built - who knows! Given Mazdas track record on information I doubt if they know.

Lastly I heard today that Mazda may be offering a free driving course to all higgh-power model buyers. - Anybody got confirmation of this?

rob,
wanna meet up some time around the turn of the next century, when we finally get our cars?

thank god someone else has a number that's wildly out of sequence, though i'd gone quietly insane.
When did you place your order?
