Angry Delivery date postponed in France

I've ordered my RX-8 a month ago in Thionville(France), and the delivery is planned for mi-july.

The Mazda dealer just called to tell me the car will be
delivered mid-AUGUST !! Aaarg !
He told me Mazda cannot commit all RX-8 orders on time because
of the huge number of orders.

Well, nothing to do except wait ...

Mag, zennnnn

Bad news Mag, and I know how hard it is to wait! A lot of us know actualy. I'm waiting almost four months now and it's really getting on my nervs. Mine should be here within one or two weeks, finally!
At least it gives you a little more time on finding an insurance! Found any yet?

b.t.w. I've heard Tai-chi beats zenn.

Wish you a lot of strenght....

Regards,
Caecil

Thanks for the encouragement.
For the insurance, I've found a very good price with Allianz, 1150€ / year ... with the same conditions then Macif (talking about risk covering, theft, etc).

I don't know about your individual situation, but I think that prize is reasonable. Do you need an aditional anti-carjacksystem? I had an offer from Allianz and they wanted me to have that installed, while my dealer adviced me not to do so.

B.t.w. what color did you order?

It's a velocity red, wity black interior.

Btw, yesterday, I've called the Mazda dealer, because I wanted to change the interior color, to get red/black. And this car is available next week. Waw ! I was suppose to wait 'til august to get mine with full black interior !

Congratulations Mag,
Just one week instead of 3 months, you are so lucky. And red/black interior is the best choice in a red or in a black 8 i.m.o.! I got mine a week ago today and I don't regret my choice, it's beautyful.
I know the last week waiting is the hardest, so, best of luck. And if you're planning on a trip in the nearby future, maybe we could meet somewhere in Belgium! I know Eric would love to come too.

Caecil

There seems to be a long waiting list for RXs with all black interiors here in Belgium too. A guy I know will get his Titanium 3 months earlier by taking a black/sand interior.

"Waar de brouwer gaat, de bakker gaat niet." Or in other words, beer is as nourishing as bread, or food.

I'll change it time to time anyway. But I've always like that piece of popular wisdom...

MAG : sorry for the threadjack

I don't know if I am on the wright side here, but knowing that MAG lives in France, near Thionville (very lovely city !!) I wonder if there are any RX-8 owners near Limoges.
I will spent my holidays there (80 km southwest) and it would be great meeting there with other owners.

So, if anybody would be interested, please let me know.
I will be there from 12 till 26 june.

Regards,

Eric

Eric, IKN Caecil etc.
no problem for the threadjack ... as Belgian, I find the quote about bread & bear quite funny :-)

Caecil,
I'll be ofter around Namur because my parents live in Vedrin. Where EricHarte lives too. 'hope to meet you soon...

Eric,
I've just discovered there're 2 Thionville in France.
In Essone (dept 91, close to Paris) and in Moselle (57, far east)
I'm in Moselle, sorry. But I hope you'll find owners over there.

Good news, the dealer just called me and my car will be ready tomorrow morning. He's installing today the sport suspension I bought from Mazda Accessories.

I've signed for the insurance with Allianz, 1180€ / year with full covergage. To answer Caecil, I don't need to install an anti-carjacksystem.

Good news indeed Mag, just in time to meet us in Eindhoven! (No, just kidding, but some other time perhaps?)

Congratulations, and I hope you enjoy your 8 as much as we all do. Have a nice day tomorrow.

sorry it was not possible to come to Eindhoven, next time ... and I just read yours posts now :-) it's 2pm !

Yesterday I was in Namur to the restaurant, with the '8 of course. It's amazing how peoples talks to you in the street when they see the '8. I was laughing when a guy was close to hit a wall while walking a looking at my car :-)
There was even a guy on the road with a Xedos6, that slowed down to look at the car, we finally discussed a bit a traffic light because he's waiting for a yellow 8.

day 2 and already 600km ... my best car ever !

Mag, nice to learn that your 8 is doing great !!!
People certainly look over their shoulder when an 8 is passing by, it is a great and exiting car to see.
Any chance you will drive to Sussac, near Limoges, next week?
Would be good for your car and the wine will be waiting for you in the fridge .....

Enjoy your 8.

Eric

BTW, did you order any acceseries for your car?

No, Sussac is Sussac. 80 km south-east of Limoges. So it is in France and Susteren is in the Netherlands.

There could be a meeting in Sussac when some French RX 8 owners could come over, but on an earlier message I posted, there where no replies.

Pics of your car would be great.

Regards,

Eric
