Delaying Delivery
Like many of you, I was initially hoping to take delivery of this car with some good summer weather left.
As we are now looking at at least a late October delivery (could go into November), Im not 100% that I want to take delivery of my car at this time of year when it is cold, wet, and dark.
I was therefore wondering what would happen if I went back to Mazda and told them there would now be a further delay (this time caused by me), as I dont want MY car until next March/April time?
The downside is I wouldnt be the first to own one, but during the winter I drive to work and home in the dark so no-one will see it anyway.
Do you think I could get my £900 back, and then get the extra £100 off when I re-place an order later on.
By next summer there may be discounts available, and I would have had time to hear everyone elses opinions first as well as test driving one.

Its not a bad idea but i would suspect nothing will be in our favour.
so taking that as the general feeling would pretty much sum up your chances.
Yes you would hear about others but then the novelty would have worn off

Yes, good point Rael. Probably will have to be out cleaning and polishing it every weekend in the winter to keep it clean.
It was just a thought, as I much prefer changing my cars in the spring/summer when the weather is good.

I share you point.
I really consider cancelling my order, the only thing that can change my mind is that we just had a baby and I need anyway to change my car !
It's a SHAME Mazda that you prefer to fill up your local markets before spreading the RX8 in our old europe. But it's true you are a US company that only knows its country ... and japan because it's build other there and an already mature market.
I am damn sure we (europe) are a most important potential market if one day you accept to invest a little bit ...
With your bad strategy, you will only sell 25 RX8 in France for its launch ... Which is the actual REAL figure.

I don't care what time of the year I take delivery really, as long as it is soon.
I am sure my family will think I am insane standing in the rain and snow lovingly polishing my car.

LOL if you at what point I don't care about this rael
I even have a dog
My concern right now is much more that on the french official mazda letter, it was said september - not october.
I foresee a new letter in September saying it will be in December then
Never seen such a bad communication.
