Dealer Showing Red '8 This Weekend 16th Aug

Just heard that Mazda Queensburgh will be showing a red RX-8 at a classic car show on Helensburgh pier on Saturday.

If you haven't heard of Helensburgh (it's my hometown) it's a smallish town about an hour west of glasgow, last stop on the low level train line from central or queen st stations.

sod's law that it's queensburgh that have got their hands on one so early, they've been the dealer responsible for servicing my MX-6 for the last 5 years or so, and would probably have been my RX-8 dealer if they hadn't raped me at the cars last service.

EDIT: deleted my rant.

entry to the event is in aid of a good cause, plus in the height of summer it's one of the nicer places to visit in scotland.

PS if you're going be polite to the stewards, my old man has been roped into helping out.

slightly wonky intelligence,

As I've had no reply's I take it that you guys have lost interest in you're new cars, nevermind, I'll carry on regardless.

(please note that the number plates are real, quite a suprise for me on the day)

Well done KEF ,some nice interior pictures.
Think if the car had been in Guildford, Henley or some such place down south you'd have got alot of replies.

Great photies young man. And no, we've not had a proper UK spec car in Guildford or Henley yet :D :D

You'd hear about it if there was!

Hmm the tit DOES look good doesn't it. Shame about that formula woman stuff voer it.

KEF have u offered to pay for that number plate then mate?!

it's been a really weird week for me, I finally passed my professional exam on monday so i've been on a high all week (apart from tuesdays champagne induced hangover)

the plate was a congratulations gift from my folks, now the car will be my gift to myself, i've always maintained that i was only going to splash out if I got through the exam

hopefully a pay rise will be in the offing to reduced the pain of car loan repayments.

as for the uk spec car:

as you will note that was a standard witdth plate (the real ??03 ??? plate was hidden underneath (blue tack), the plate fixes to a full width black plastic frame, so a smaller front plate will need to have the mounting modified, I gave it a little tug, and it didn't feel too secure, so i would imagine it comes off fairly easily.

as they've maintained the material quality feels up on the pre pro model.

I really liked the leather, particualrly the shiny seat backs, the black has white stitching and is particularly soft, though
there is no height adjustment for the passenger seat.

the tit grey looks fantastic, it was the first time any of my mates had seen the car in the flesh and they were all very impressed. as you will see there were people crawling pover it all day, not bad considering there was an aston martin vanquish, original e-type, original wrc audi quattro, dodge viper and dozens of other exotical parked within the tent. (the guy who brought down a porsche turbo claimed to have hit 170 mph on the way, some loaner)

for the first time i noticed how close the edge of the roof and the door strut are to your head, for those of you used to coupe's the visibility is going to be a bit of a disappointment, although the uk ones have split wing mirrors.

the screen mirror is more solid looking than the pre pro but doesn't have any on the home link gadgetery

KEF, just returned from (6 day) holiday to find these great snaps. Internal door cards almost look two tone, or were they black ?

Great stuff, AnilS.
