RX-8 Advertising

If there is going to be a TV ad for the RX-8 in October, what sort of ad and music do you think would suit the RX-8?

Personally, I think most car ads are a load of cr4p.

Renault - VaVa Voom
Fiat Punto - Human League
Mazda - ZoomZoom
Vauxhall - Cant even remember

The only car as I can think of that I like at the moment is the Audi RS6 with the Bull.

I would rather just see some good shots of the car (interior and exterior) with some nice scenery and some appropriate music. I think rock music generally goes well with fast cars. I just hope they dont make it too girly, we've already got Formula Woman :o

How about some suggestions for some good tunes instead of zoom-zoom-zoom?

Well:
You Spin Me Right 'Round - Dead or Alive
would doubtless be highly appropriate but as I can't stand it:

Kashmir - Led Zeppelin.

Got a couple of ideas:

You keep me hanging on (by Diana Ross or someone in Motown I cant remember who)

Or

You aint never gonna get it (Destinys Child or someone like that)

You get my drift

Just saw the Chrysler advert with the Crossfire. Song is "I drove all night" which is a great tune, shame about the arty B&W shots though.

I think Tom Petty - Running Down a Dream is a great driving song.

Leftfield - Release the pressure.

But sadly, I feel we're going to get Zoom Zoomed all over the place.

From what I've read on various media review websites we're in for quite a different approach for the very first advert - no reggae zoom-zoom music this time. This could all change further on down the campaign.

Take a look at the downloads section of the Australian RX-8 website (http://www.mazda.com.au/articleZone1...cleZoneID=2227) - a video (TV commercial?) plus a streaming copy of the US and Aussie TV adverts (unfortunately these are a little unreliable).

But will Mazda even feel the need to aggressively market the RX-8? Pre-orders are good and the feeling is sales will be strong after the car hits the streets.

Bez.

From watching Pulling Power on Tuesday we have a new contender for the music on the RX-8 TV adverts.

You spin me round (like a record) - Dead or Alive

Apologies Lensman, I did have a quick scan of the thread first but my old eyes aren't what they used to be (too much time reading the Forum I think) perhaps I should avail of your services if we ever have a RX-8 Club meeting.
