Change Spec?

Has anyone changed their specification after ordering?
I ordered my car with cloth seats but I now want leather. I asked the dealer to change my order but said he could not.
The confimation pack says you are allowed one change and this can be done on the website. I can't find anywhere on the website to do this.
Is it worth ringing Mazda direct to see if they will do the change?

I would ring them (08457 48 48 48). They did have some trouble with the website, so they probably took it off.

Just rang the helpline number in the conformation pack (0845 603 1354) and they have changed it for me but I am now at the back of the queue .
Estimate sept/oct time for delivery. ( First cars are arriving early August apparently)

Sounds like an unhelpful dealer to me. When I was discussing my order with T W Whites, they said that there would be no problem changing the order, so long as it hadn't gone into build (at the factory). If I changed then, it would still be possible, but I would go back to the end of the queue (no thanks!).

Speak to your dealer again, or try Mazda direct. Though I know a lot of people seem to have no joy with them either :-/

I don't understand why switching to leather should put you to the back of the queue of the car is not in production yet.

The first manufacturing run for us contains both cloth and leather setups, and isn't a major feature of the production run (unlike engine spec for example).

I was having second thoughts about having chosen to not have the sunroof. Won't even consider it now.

I pressume that they have to cancel my existing slot in the production run and allocate a new one. But you would think as none of them have been made yet it would be simple to make the change.

It doesn't make sense to me either. T W Whites told me I could change my spec up until the build date (as at the time of ordering I was unsure on the colour and whether to have sat/nav). They told me that I should place the order now, to get in the queue, and so long as any changes I made were before the build date (approx 8-10 weeks before delivery date), then that wasn't a problem.

Answer???

I read something fairly early on (feb) that the pre-orders were to be matched to an already agreed run on colours and specs.

This may be the problem.
