Arg!!!!!!

Just spoke to Mazda, the girl has told me the boat has suck due to Typhoon Miassi or what ever its called.

All preorders will be contacted to discuss options...

Just kiddin.

Comfirmed though first batch is on the water and expected to arrive mid october with 2 weeks pre-checks etc.

On the issue of test drives, girl confirmed that the cars were given to the dealerships with the highest number of pre-orders

So Milcars St Albans with 30 something pre-orders dont count them

cw007 -

I've been wondering about this.
I know Milcars have 30+ pre-orders
I know I was the first ! (yay!) and you are pretty near the front too...
They have not contacted me concerning a demonstrator at all - have they you ?
I will be pretty damn annoyed if they have had one but not bothered with us 'money-down' people at all....

Actually , they have not contacted me for months , niot since the blue car static event. Not even to say 'come collect your picture'.

So - do you know any more than me ?

Code solution for the map.
Do you manipulate the map image for each page request, or is it generated in an overnight process?

I guess the latter.

What function / software do you use to overlay the dot, using positioning from your vector points file, onto the map image?

The map is generated dynamically using the PHP programming language http://www.php.net. Things start with a .PNG image of the world without any red dot. The PHP code is very simple and grabs todays date from the system and then reads a text file which contains a simple list of dates and X, Y coordinates. The PHP code matches the current date with the same one in the text file and retreves the X and Y values. To create the .PNG of the world with the red dot the GD library of functions is used http://www.boutell.com/gd/. This comes as part of PHP now - yippie! The GD function library contains a collection of functions to allow you to manipulate .GIF, .JPEG and .PNG images. One function allows you to draw rectangles. I used this to draw a red square on the world map image the code then saves the new image as a .PNG file, which is what is see when you view the web page.

Cheers, thanks for the info.

Will look into PHP.

Doing something like that with .ASP / .JSP. is just too much of a headache.
