Got all the wrap off. That was fun.


next was pull the fender liners out and roll the fenders .


The exhaust was a mix of very nicely fabricated exhaust mixed with off the shelf stuff.
It was hanging extremely low and was nearly scrapping the ground with the car being at stock ride height.
So next up was weld up some new stuff for extra ground clearance.

BEFORE (can fit a stuffed turkey between the exhaust and driveshaft)

 

AFTER

tucked up level with the PPF now so should be in the safe zone.

With that being done. Lowered the car down. As I expected the Teins dont go as low as I would like. They are pretty much brand new so I shouldnt have a hard time selling them hopefully.

Derek, Any more updates? I was looking at this car...it was kinda calling to me too...then I saw the interior and had a weird feeling about whoever would do something like that to their car LOL

 

haven't had much time with the car been busy on some other projects. I have some wiring to sort out. Took it on a couple hundred mile road trip the other weekend and had a few issues but still made it home. Got carried away on a harley project and projects on the diesels. Soon I will get more updates on the 8 hopefully.

I would contact Vertex USA to inquire on the kit. I heard rumor they don't make them anymore but they say that about everything lol

They are real but all spray painted. Got a bunch from a shop that ran the nismo 370z program in IMSA. Also scored some RE30s from them my absolute favorite.

anyways. I picked up some aero for the REW Rx8 but havent had time to install it yet. Busy with a few more drift events over the next few weeks and hopefully will find time between.

Here it is now kinda. I did get a different hood and lowered the front a bit more.


I picked up a renesis rx8 that has slowly become my favorite car. It has non of the oem aero bits so im going t take the spats off the silver car and put an oem front lip on it. I love the renesis !


Its really loud so im planning on building a new exhaust for it when the time comes. Also the coilovers are no good. But using it for kinda long road trips so the crazy loud exhaust and bouncy ride kinda sucks but its till such a good car.

 

Its not the rx8 but did some drifitng in the fc with my teammates. Figured this group might appreciate the rotary noises.

 

Alright both the 8s got upgrades recently.
REW 8 got Mazdaspeed Aero .




Then the Renesis got a new axle back exhaust. It had a header and straight pipe and was miserably loud. I ordered a cheap DNA motoring axle back with dual mufflers and it fit extremely well and really took the DBs down a bunch.
