Exclamation Won't start

I know some of you have had this happen as well...I started up on Thursday morning (was parked outside)...moved it into the garage and swithced it off and went back to bed. Thursday evening car won't start..I think I may have flooded it...any deflooding suggestions worth trying or is it best to get it towed to the dealership???
Any suggestions will be appreciated

you can try the deflooding but if it doesnt work, ull have no choice to send it to dealer.........i had this happen, and my plugs needed to be changed cuz of over flooding.........dude, NVER start the car, move it and shut it off thats the biggest nono with an 8 man.....always let it run to warm temp. did you get the "flooding" update from the dealer yet?

I know I have had my 8 since 2005, and had never shut it off without the temp gauge getting to the middle...brain cramp I guess...but no, I did not get the flooding update from the dealer...tried the deflooding suggestion that was posted on the Issues and Problems bit, removed the fuse...tried to start about 10 times, then replaced the fuse and tried starting again...no luck...any other deflodding techniques out there? Thanks

If you are still under warranty - a tow to the dealer might be in your best interests . If not pull start the car in 2nd gear . Do you know how to do that ?

Dealer time!
You'll get the upgrades at the same time.

Good luck.

I'm assuming you have a 6spd MT because this won't work with an auto .
Hook up a tow rope to another car
foot on clutch & into 2nd gear & ignition on
tow at about 10 -15 mph
let clutch out
when car starts clutch in & wave down towing car - things can get hairy doing this for the first time so work out how it will go down in advance

Only do this if you really need your car now - as the others have said you will get the upgrades for free if you get it towed in .

flooding was not a recall - Just something they will fix if it is reported .

Plugs , starter ,battery will be replaced - if you get lucky

Thanks for all the help guys, but methinks I'll have Mazda Roadside tow it to the dealer...I have a second car so not worth the risk with the 2nd gear technique (thanks Brettus though)...besides free upgrades are sweet!!! Oops..my 8 is lowered, would I need a trailer to get it towed??

Just get them to check the recall record of the car to see if anything else has been missed.
If you have brake squeal be sure to mention that to get the brake pad 'upgrade'

Good luck!
