Winter Storage

Hey guys, i figured this wouldbe the place to ask. Im preparing to store my rx8 for the cold manitoba winter and have a few quick questions.

First off i unfortuently have to store it outside and I'm unable to put up a portable garage where i live. So im planning to put it on my winters, add fuel stabilizer, pull the battery and cover it. Does this seem like the most appropriate way to store it?

Also when covering whats the best way to do so? I figured a car cover then a tarp, however im worried that any moisture may get traped and cause exterior damage. I was already advised to leave the bottom open for that reason.

Any tips and help would be much apreciated!

Cheers

Pump up the tires 40-50 psi, get a car cover for outdoor. Tarping it may cause condensation if you get freeze and thaws. Put steel wool in the exhaust tips to keep critters out , you can also do this to the intake if your so inclined, remove battery store off the ground, indoors. A box of open baking soda in the interior to absorb moisture and odors. I can can go on and on.

My dealer told me the exact same as RXeckless, but also added
putting moths ***** in a cup under the hood to help keep out the
critters, also said some thing about spraying WD40 no the rotors to keep from rusting (but not sure if that would f@ck the pads or not)

Moths ***** under the hood forgot about that one, vaseline on the rotor and chuck the wheels ....... no parking brake, moisture on the rotor & pad will literally fuse the pad to the rotor. Clean Vaseline off in the spring, wd40 will probably do the same thing just don't get it on the pads as it is a penetrating oil, GOD only knows what it will do to the pads during the big sleep. Probably forgot something but your on a forum someone will get anytihing I missed.

Just remember it is just a RX-8 not a Ferrari, so keep it simple and you know the rest of that line!

What about people having issues with the 04s sitting for a while and the injectors slowly leaking fuel into the housings overtime causing it to flood when spring comes?

I have an 04 and I've never had that happen through 4 winters.
