Well I do not have keyless entry and also do not have alarms and decks, and the battery was replaced last February by CAA .
This time when I called them , they when trough a bunch of test on the battery and they just told me that was drained and the cause , like I have mentioned before is two weeks of stoppage .He even mention 3 or four days will do it, which I have a hard time to believe ...
It is possible that the CAA battery is just not good?

Battery is probably no good. Change it, your problem will go away.

Wondering if anyone knows if there is ANYBODY in all of Newfoundland with at least a little knowledge of rotary engines? Is it actually possible that an entire province can have not one single shop that can (reliably) work on these cars? Really need an answer before I travel to Ontario in search of my first RX8.

They are all the way out in pickering, and Dave can be a bit cranky at times - but he's a straight shooter and knows rotaries.[/QUOTE]

BEWARE of Streetpower autoshop!!!

Last year I brought my rx 8 to this goof at Streetpower Performance Inc., his name is Sean. He told me my gas pump was bad, and needed a new one. Told me it takes a few hours to replace it. I waited 2 day to get my car back. I found out he flooded my car, trying to park the car from garage to outside and he didnt know how to unflood the car. I got a bill charge to unflood my rx 8 on top of the gas pump replacing. I just found today he never replace my gas pump at all, still the old pump! WOW! Never bring to this guy for any jobs....I was told by other rx8 shop to avoid him at all cost, apparently he's know to scam his customers.

has anyone looked into places/costs to rebuild an engine recently? i am having hot start issues and think it may be just about time. ive changed the starter and seafoamed, it has helped but I am sure a rebuild is in my future.

168000 km. live in toronto but can go anywhere in the golden horseshoe.

Still think it's around $3500. Dave@Mazdees had quoted that to me about a year ago.
