Is this the rotary compression test tool?

Keep in mind that you can't do a compression check on a rotary engine the same way as on a piston engine; you need a rotary specific tool...

 

From what I have read in this forum and others online, you can remove the pressure release valve and screw it into one spark plug hole at a time. Perform the operation as the DIY or Service Manual explains, and have someone watch the needle on the Compression Tester. Then have them record the Highest and lowest numbers that the needle hit. By doing this to all 4 you can get a general idea of what your compression is at. This could be absolutly *** backwards and wrong, but since I need to clen my spark plugs(thank you foreign body works for floodig my engine) and replace my coils, it wont hurt to try. If it looks like I have low compression, I can always shell out the $150 for the test and hope for a new engine . If anyone knows for sure that this will/wont work, let me know.

 

I run regular gas.....is this bad? I read that premium is only recommened.
Are there any long term concequences to this??

meh... chances are you're not going to have any issues.. I ran my NA 7 on regular pretty much exclusively and never had an issue. I use premium in my 8 mostly for the fact that it doesn't have any of the grain additive crap in it (Shell v91 yo)... get better gas milage as a result.

my car is kinda weird. it seems to be only used to premium gas, more specially from petro-canada which provides fuel additive. everytime when I filled gas from some other companies, i sorta noticed a bit of problems such as SSV stuck and so on. I dont know if they are really related but thats the fact I got on my own car. Personal speaking....

 

FYI, the "teardrop" you speak of is not the actual MAF sensor; it is the air temp. sensor. The actual MAF sensor is a pair of fine wires located inside the hollow tube if you look up into it. Do NOT touch them, but rather carefully spray MAF cleaner up it and let it drain.
